Grown kids are hinting I should be selling "stuff" that I don't really use and they would have no idea as to value or what to do with it all. All this "stuff" came along with the purchase when I bought my SSR. It just sits on a shelf in my garage gathering dust.
I (might) part with all or some of these items but Christmas is over and I'm not wearing my Santa Claus suit. Would entertain offers or suggestions. More info available upon request. ,

I give up on the pics. One of them shows a hard bound book on the SSR along with two different brochures with a yellow SSR on front. Another one shows the soft bound book by Jim G that many are familiar with along with the CD that comes to a new purchaser. The third pic shows various notebook pages that I assume were part of the sales brochure on the SSR, it shows all the colors and lists all the standard and extra options available, etc.

I have the same issue with my kids--they go through my home office, then the garage---same every Christmas---"What is this" Why do you need that" Not one of them ever ask-Can you me show this works? What is the story behind that old football? So I'm refusing to part with anything--Happy New Year!! And of course--they all want to DRIVE my R---which is not happening!!!!

Yup, I can relate to that. My oldest daughter and husband plan to visit in March. I told her that when she gets here, I'm taking her on a guided tour of my garage and what different tools are for, etc. Between her and her sister and the two husbands, she comes closest to having some "savvy" about tools and building/fixing stuff. My other daughter was here about a month ago and helping to (clear out) lots of "stuff" my wife has stored and will never use.
That daughter said to me last week via a phone call when I mentioned I too needed to clean out a lot of stuff in my garage, she said..........."Well yeah, I opened one of your tool chest drawers when I was there and there must have been 10 or more screwdrivers in it". In her mind, if you have one screwdriver, that is all you must need. Never mind phillips versus a straight blade nor the size of the screw head, etc.
Guess she didn't look in the drawer next to that one, cause one of them has mostly phillips in it and the other straight bladed.
She obviously doesn't understand that there is a right tool for a job and using the wrong one can cause lots of issues.

But she will never learn that if you do not explain it because, based on your statement above, her husband does not understand that point either.

@moscooter the only way you can begin to try to explain the need for different tools is to go into their closet and ask why they have so many shoes. They only have 2 feet so one pair should be plenty, or ask why they have so many purses? Then they can start to understand the need for so many.
