I'm sure that's probably been discussed before but has anyone switch to 100% synthetic Dot 4 brake fluid? Ok to use? Did you notice a difference in pedal feel?
There's a good chance my brake fluid has never been changed. I want to do it. Thinking of Castrol or motul dot 4. (I know to NOT use dot5)

DOT 4 (Synthetic) is fully compatible with DOT 3 they are both Glycol Ether based brake fluids. If you flush your 14yr old brake fluid, which is recommended, and replace with fresh DOT4 you may notice a firmer pedal only because you have eliminated the moisture and contamination contained in the old fluid in the system. Otherwise there is no difference in the performance of the two.

DO NOT use DOT 5 in the system, it will ruin system seals and components.
DOT 5 is silicone based and Not compatible with the Glycol ether based fluids. It is for new systems that have been designed for DOT 5 use. Racers use it for its higher temperature rating.
