Broke Interior Door Mechanism on drivers side. The door handle will not open the door. Got to get it into the shop first thing Monday. Have to put the window down and reach out the door...............

Anyone else have this problem & if so what happened?

Broke Door Handle

Reported on this problem last week. Talked to my service manager about it. He says it could take anywhere from a week til December to get the parts. They have never had this problem and don't really have the parts to fix. Might have to get the parts directly from the assembly line. Good luck with your fix.

I was going to work on it BUT....
I did some electrical work a few months back and didn't cut the power. She was helping me Ummmm... actually standing next to me when I cut the wire with 110v in it. Weeeelll you'da thought I committed murder or something.
Since that time I'm not allowed to monkey with anything of value!

Door Mech Failure

My driver's side door mechanism has also failed. Had it at the dealer Friday was told 5-10 days for parts. Seems to be a very weak design. Small plastic part takes all the load when you open the door.

Door Handle

Got mine back last week. Took the dealership two weeks to get the part. Works great. Kind of miss having to open the window and reach out to open the door. :cry

They replaced the door panel. That's where the door handle hinge goes through. Not a very good design BUT they fixed it so no complaints here. I'm not pulling on the door handle as hard now a days.

Did they replace it with the new style door panel or the old? Can you now reach the seat controls?
