Burnin' Rubber! - NOT!!!

1886 Views 12 Replies 12 Participants Last post by  ron dickson
I've had an '04 5.3L and now an '05 6.0L and, with both, I can't burn any rubber. Whether the traction control is on or off and whether in 1st gear or drive, I floor it and nothing. The car goes and knocks you back in your seat, but no burnin' rubber like the good old muscle cars of the '70s. Am I alone on this?

Thanks, Big Daddy! I'll try it. I know that with 21st Century technology, the idea is to not smoke the tires. But most of us remember that muscle car in high school that would burn rubber and send smoke pouring just by putting your foot half way on the gas pedal. I just want to relive that for a red light or two.
