Any advice/comments on purchasing a 2003 SSR would be appreciated.

I have two options as of early afternoon today.

New 2003 (200+ miles) or a used 2003 (755+). I'm thinking warranty, original owner claim is the best way to go, but I was just curious about the price.

Both dealers have indicated (sort of committed) to 30K for each one, I'm not planning on playing one against the other, just wondered if 30K was a reasonable price. I have the details for the used one, saddlebags, floor mats, running boards, towing package. I did offer 28K out the door for the used SSR but got the 30K counter offer.

They are both yellow and as far as I can tell, the new one has the same options.

Thanks

Warranty on the used one will have started from the original in service date. You could be down to 18 months warranty, depending on original purchase date.

You're unlikely to hit the mileage limit on an SSR unless you do a lot of highway driving, so warranty time is fairly significant. If pricing is the same, the new one becomes a better value.

The last 5 digits are the serial number. Unlike other vehicles, all SSRs have sequential numbers - they do not restart for the next model year.

Mine is 00567. A late 04 could have been 11250, 05s are now in the 20000 range.

I'm a fortunate SSR owner now.

Just want to jump up and down and tell everyone I am now the proud owner of a 2003, slinghsot yellow SRR...have to go out to the garage and double-check every few minutes to make sure I'm not dreaming.

Great dealership and salesperson, I was a little worried after reading some posts about last minute changes at the dealership but everything went smoothly, they even added the GMPP warranty to make sure I got the etnire three years of warranty coverage. Not sure about posting names of dealers, so if anyone wants to know I can email the information, location is Warrenton, VA.

Anyway, great forum, at this point my husband probably knows more about the SSR than his corvette (maybe not) but the postings really helped me when I started seriously looking at buying the SSR.

Ss soon as I figure out how to transfer the pictures from the camera to my computer to the website I will add one to my profile.
