I have been lusting for a SSR since seeing the concepts. Initially have been put off by the same initial price gouging I experienced when i ordered a 02 T Bird. As noted on this board it has been worse in California than other places. Now the prices have come down to reason. Pretty sure I am ready. First choice would be new '04 at around $31K (kind of stuck on yellow, not interested in other colors).

I have found a used yellow 03 with under 1K miles, truck appears to be perfect. My question is what kinds of things should I be looking for that dealer will not fix because the truck is now 18 months old, stuff like squeeks, rattles or other issues one expects to be taken care of in the first year?

I have been reading this site for several months, lots of similarities when I was active with the T Bird site. Tons of useful information, support, and passion for the truck. I also notice about the same ratio of "Chevy" guys and girls) to "car" guys as I saw on the Ford site. I am a "car" guy.

Appreciate any guidance and suggestions.
Thanks

Used SSR

Grayfox,
First off, if it is a 2003 with 1000 miles, its still under factory warranty. therefore things like squeaks and rattles should be repaired. Secondly, as someone in the business, if I were the customer, and I wanted to buy a vehicle, I would require that some of these "pesky" items be repaired before I bought this vehicle. If the dealer didn't want to do this, then I would pass on this vehicle.

Thanks

Mike,
Thanks for your response. Couple of things for clarification: 1) I don't even know if the truck has squeeks. 2) This is a private party transaction. The flavor of my question is driven by the fact that I am 61 yrs old, I have bought a LOT of new cars and I recall that there are some things the dealer will fix in the first year, I guess we could call that "marginal" stuff, after that it it only warranty items as defined in the manual.
Looking for things specific to the SSR that could be issues down the road.
Appreciate your reply,
Dean
