Just finished the paint brush work on my carcrazy self portrait. Will put the airbrush to it this weekend. I wanted to do a very different kind of self portrait for the New Waves 2005 jurried exhibition coming up.

The image was made by cutting up earlier pics of my ssr and forming a montage on paper that I then drew out onto a stretched canvas and painted by hand. The finished image will look more photoreal once I lay the airbrush onto the hand painted parts.

I got the idea to cut up images and rearrange them like this from observations of quilt patterns. I got some really cool ones on the web and then started to divide up all kinds of images. Gonna do my dog next!
