Those of you in Va., W. VA., Washington, Deleware, and N.J. may want to check this out. This is a great show and has tons of vehicles all along miles of boardwalk. It is one of the biggest shows in our area and features great events, entertainment, and a nice atmosphere. Perhaps we can sign up as the ssrfanatic club? I plan on going for sure. Anyone else interested? I would love to see some of you all actually in person. The hotel rates are also very cheap in april.

We got our registration confirmation in the mail.

They have us going on the boardwalk at 16th street. I hope that is where everyone else is going to be.

I also have my confirmation. How long will you be there. I will be there from Friday thru Sunday.

Look forward to meeting you. :ssr
Saturday

The wife and I will be getting to Ed's at about 8 AM and then we have a room for the night. We will head back to Dale City on Sunday. I'm sure there are some antique shops along the way for us to waste some time browsing.

We are going to stick around Norfolk for a few hours and visit family. Then we should be back up in DC. I am off on Monday and just might take the long way home. Come back thru Ocean City. I would like to take the SSR across the Bay Bridge Tunnel.
I am sure many of you are watching the weather with a wary eye. Relax, I just checked the long term forcast, and while rain is in it, it is minmal at best. Friday evening will definately have a shower, Saturday should be picture perfect until late afternoon as the show closes and then maybe one or two boomers. Not to worry. April showers bring May flowers and Mayflowers bring pilgrims......see you Saturday!

I have been doing the same thing. I am trying to figure out how much cleaning I need to do before the show. I think we all will be washing our trucks at your house before the show. ;)
No problem my friends. I got a personal day off Friday but still need to show up for 3 hours of training on crisis intervention. I should be at the house by 1:30 Friday afternoon and on. If you don't see my truck in the driveway, I am still there, I just like keeping it in the garage to keep the pollen and stuff off of it. :seeya

We should be there by 3 or 4 pm. If it isnt raining by the time we get there, I will be buy to clean the truck. If it is raining, then I will wait tell Saturday morning.

If that is OK with you. :) I am bring my cover so if it rains before morning I don't have to rewash the truck.
This just in....rain is definate for Friday night, and since I am going to the shindig at the Oceanfront INn's Ellington's restauraunt with all the other car crazies, Black Betty is gonna get wet. I plan on washing again Sat. in the morning before the show. Guess we will all be scrubbing and rubbing on sat. morning! :jester

Also got an email from the promoter saying that on Thursday evening from 6:30-7:30 news 3 is going to do a little gig on the show and if ya want yer car on the Tube to show up for the big media hoopla Thursday at the Oceanfront inn. The will be airing it on Friday evenging and Saturday morning.

Is there a time period as to when the rain is supposed to start. We plan to be there about 3:00pm. I hope to beat the rain. then I can just put the cover on the truck and just get up Saturday Morning and do a fast wash. Then during the show I could do all my waxing and polishing. I might even wait tell then to clear coat the engine. :)

Ed, I will be staying at the Oceanfront Inn. Plus we have ticket to the dinner that night. I will call you when I arrive in town.
Les: Good choice for accomodations. There will be a lot of activity at that hotel! You will have fun. Rain looks for sure Friday night but hey man, you know how the weather is, fickle, fickle and fickle.....I plan on working out at the gym right after work and then doing up the truck. Should work out time wise after what you just stated in terms of when you would arrive. Gotta keep the ole ticker tickin! :jester

Les: Give me a call when you get in and we will hook up. the Friday night bash should be fun! Black Betty is sure to get we so I don't plan on detailing majorly until Sat. morning. :jester

Ed,

Looking at the weather in the DC area, looks like rain all day. I hope not! But if it does then we will just get together at the hotel and I will wait until Saturday to clean it up.

Talked to you on Friday.
Thursday night media event

Tonight Eric Williams on our local news channel 3 (CBS) interviewed me and sat in my SSR conducting a nice piece about our show. He definately looked good in it. He needs to get one. Hope I got em hooked. He talked about how you need to go to this show and see cars with custom paint (pan to the skulls) and hear cars that talk (Eric pushes wolf whistle button). Pretty funny. Here are a few shots from this evenings happenings! See ya Friday night Les!

You can see some shots of the new custom PVC pipes I did with the autoair colors.
Cool, Black Betty is a Star!!! Yes it looks good on him.
Ed's SSR

Soon Ed's SSR will be starring in movies! :lol
Almost time to leave...

Eeyore is cleaned up and itching to go. I sure hope the weather clears up.

Ed, if you haven't left for your new career in Hollywood, we'll see you (and everyone else) in the morning.

I bought extra bottles of Mr. Clean car wash for you guys. Looks like we are gonna need it. Met Less and his better half yesterday at the Oceanfront Inn. Nice guy! :thumbs
Awesome show!

Great Day today! Brownhornet got a trophy too! It was great to see him and the better halves of Jim, Diggs, Brownhornet, and our bachelor buddy, looking4anSSR. Had a nice lunch on the pier at Ocean Eddies, and pretty much absorbed the over 300 cars in the show all day. Whew! The weather threatened to be armagedon, but held off all day! We are sooooo blessed. Here come the photos in a series of posts for ya. :jester
and wait,....there's more..... :jester
Very nice shots. Looks like the perfect day for a car show.
