Personally and only IMO I am not a big fan of what is called the "L88" hood. However, it does serve a clearance purpose The 1967 L88 did not have that hood I believe but the Stinger hood.

What vehicle did they originally put this type of L88 hood on?

'69 Vettes had this style, the '68 I don't remember it they used this or the stinger style, but I'd guess it was the same as the '69.
