Personally and only IMO I am not a big fan of what is called the "L88" hood. However, it does serve a clearance purpose The 1967 L88 did not have that hood I believe but the Stinger hood.

What vehicle did they originally put this type of L88 hood on?

'69 Vettes had this style, the '68 I don't remember it they used this or the stinger style, but I'd guess it was the same as the '69.

It's only money. They will send you more next month. Your happiness is worth it! You can probably resell the stock hood and recapture most of the cost anyway.
