Has anyone installed the cargo trim kit yet? Or taken the cargo lid off yet? I got the kit and the trim kit directions seem fairly understandable but it came with this big honking bag to put the lid in and brackets to hang it on the wall with no clue as to how high, far apart ect. Anybody out there with experience on this. Thanks Parrotbob :ssr

Did you get it from the dealer?

I wanted that and when I asked my dealer for it he and everyone around him shook their heads and said they have never heard of that, and that it must be an aftermarket item.

Cargo Area Cover Storage System

" - includes a soft storage bag for the cargo area cover and wall-mounting hardware for storage. Color-keyed cargo rail trim covers are also included"

The above description is on the last page of the 2004 brochure. There is also a full page shot of a Silver SSr with the cover hanging on the wall.

The same full page shot is also in the 2005 brochure. The description of the storage system stays the same, but the Bed Rail Trim is shown as a separate item, and need to be painted to match by your Chevy dealer.

cargo trim

Ray is correct on that. The numbers for the set up at that time were listed as well. I not only got the trim kit with the bag and brackets I got the dealer to include painting to match! Now I just have to figure :confused it all out and get the bag on the wall and the trim on the truck! :ssr Bob

Parrot,

Just installed mine yesterday. Not a big deal but you will need a rivet gun. As far as the spacing, screw them into the studs! If in your garage on an exterior wall, they will be 24" apart, interior 16". I used 7/16 x 2 1/2 lag bolts. Be warned, the hinges will hit your wall when you hang the cover.

I haven't taken pictures yet, but will have some up tomorrow. Spent all afternoon clay barring, going to Zaino her right now.
