I've replaced my ignition switch, but didn't know there was a tool. How does it work, or is it for replacing the key cylinder? I'm all for the right tool for the right job, but...

from the Shop Manual:

9. Insert J 42759 into the lock cylinder housing to release the tabs on the ignition switch.
10. Pull the ignition switch out of the lock cylinder housing.
11. Disconnect the connector from the ignition switch.

Huh, how about that? I think I just used a small flat-blade screwdriver. You learn something every day.
