Under hood adhesives

I explored the possibilities of putting the SSR logo in the hood insulator and after talking 2 many decal n sign shops they ALL said it will NOT STAY. They've tried this with other applications with little or no luck, especially 4 long term use. They all said the adhesives they've used do not stand up to the heat and the product simply peels away or cracks. :nodno

The problems with products like "Liquid Nails", is getting it applied so there r no missed areas and keeping it in place 4 it 2 set up evenly. The other problem is that the insulation is porous n the adhesives do not absorb or adhere evenly. :nodno

I finally went 2 my auto body guy n he did his majic n painted it along with all my visable bowtie's. :yesnod C pic's below.

Hope this helps n saves sum frustration 4 u members. If u cum up with a better solution pls post it.

Ur probablly correct.

QWKSSR, I didn't mean 2 infer that there r NO POSSIBILITIES 4 the application. :eek

It most likely means that the cos' I contacted did not hav the right stuff. Although 1 of the cos' is the biggest decal mfgr/seller in So Florida.(Speed n Truck World in Ft. Lauderdale.)

The main reason givin was if u drove it alot, everyday, it cud cause problems with the vinyl crackin and or peelin away. Then, in the next breath, they wud say that it either wudn't stick correctly to the fiber mat or I wud hav 2 hav it clear coated in the area of the logo 4 it 2 "MAYB" work.

Anyway I did what I did n I'm happy with it. :yesnod :yesnod :yesnod

I wish u Great success with ur business. :yesnod :yesnod :yesnod
