Miss Daisy's Been SHOT!

Well, actually it was a stone hitting her windshield, but it sounded like a gun!

She was running down I-75 and a truck picked up a small stone off the road and hit her windshield about an inch above the hood on the far left hand side. It's out of the way of sight, but I'm getting it fixed. (The "star" of the chip is about the size of an eraser on a #2 pencil!)

Called the insurance company and they informed me that I had $100 deductible, BUT if I had it fixed by NOVUS (a mobile windshield fix company), they would wave the deductible.

I will keep you informed on how it comes out.............

Fix chip.

I had a star chip fixed on an 04 Avalanche I had. The fix was great, it turned out to be a small white dot. You would not even know it was there unless you knew where to look. Good luck. :flag

for glass is covered at 100%. Thought that was the norm???

Is the $100 deductible your blanket coverage or just the comprehensive part??

:banghead Good ole Battle Scars. Hard to do if its setting in the garage. Buy em to use. I would get one of those transparent bandaids if were me. :glol

Rock chip

The most important thing to do first is to put a small piece of tape over the chip ! You Want To Keep The Dirt Out Of The CHIP. Will make a cleaner repair,I carry a small round band aid in case of a chip :thumbs :

Wow that sucks... State Farm replaces windshields free if it gets chipped or cracked...

i also had glass damage to my 04 ssr and they quoted me a price of about $600.00 to remove and replace the windshield. might be finished today if they can get parts. a dodge 1 ton dually got me on the way to work last thursday. there ain't no way i am going to drive a new car/truck at these prices with a busted windshield. had repairs done on my previous vehicle 2001 ford f150 and it looked like crap. good luck with your repairs.

ps. got the ssr back today and it was much cheaper than i thought. $338.00 for a new windshield. looks like it has a longer radio antenna, better reception in my locale. 2 days without driving it was almost too much to bear.

A window repair wii not cost you any money The Insurance Co. wii pay for the repair. The $100.00 ded. is when you have to have the W/S Glass replaced. Insurance Co. would rather pay the $25.00 than have to replace it . arty

Well, just talked to the mobile windshield repair people and they will NOT repair any damage on the drivers half of the windshield! (Bet there was a law suit involved at one time!)

So, Miss Daisy may be getting new glasses!

I had a chip the size of a dime in upper driver's side on my Vette. Novus didn't know if it would repair. We tried first, if that failed then we'd go for the glass. That was 3 years ago and one must still look and look to find it. The key is to keep it clean and dry until repair, plus a lot of luck!

Because it is NOT in the line of sight of the driver (way down in the left corner) I don't see the problem, so I think I will just keep looking around for someone to do it.

Had it done on my Vette before and they're right, you couldn't see the repair iunless you were looking for it.
