SSR projected production allocation is now available on-line in the dealer only website.

Your dealership's projected production allocation for both the 2003 and 2004 model years appears in chart form as the first item in the SSR Distribution section of the dealer only website.

SSR Allocation is based on total Chevrolet retail sales for the entire 2002 calendar year, including both cars and trucks. The on-line chart indicates planned production for a given month.

What they are gonna charge you!

:banghead I called several other dealers to find out what it would cost to "Reserve an SSR" and most of them want at the very least, $58,000.00. I expected the first to be over sticker but this is way beyond expectations. The dealer that I have a deposit with is charging even more than that. Maybe in about a year or two they will be more realistically priced. They can't give the the T-birds away after only two years so I figure this puppy will go the same route. Let's hope so.

:banghead Good grief man....pretty much everyone here knows what the MSRP is and you are correct. My point is that there is not a dealer out there who is going to sell them at that for at the very least, the next two years from now. Supply is low, demand is high, and those suckers are gonna bleed ya for all they can get. If I could find an honest dealer that would sell me one at MSRP I would do it. MY ceiling is 45K and they won't even take that. Looks like my hopes of getting one are zilch. Not much future in it. I hope you rich boys and girls out there enjoy your new toy. Another great idea pushed beyond the means of the ordinary man. Hell, 45K isn't all that ordinary either, but then, I don't have 58K to piss down the drain on something that will be worhtless as soon as a mini cooper crashes into it.

Possibly, but we have 3 on the way by the end of the summer, only one is sold. We just ordered the first GTO last week, and where sitting on 2 A/E convertibles for 3 months.
They thought the same thing about the Silverado SS and we can't seem to get rid of them.
Don't count yourself out yet, demand may not be as high as they expect.

So you guys have a few coming that are not sold eh? Just how much are you guys selling them for? To all you dealers out there reading this forum, I am willing to pay 45K for an SSR. If you are interested let me know, otherwise, I will wait till hell freezes over before paying over that.

who are crying the blues because Dealers want to charge over MSRP - then want to turn around and do the same money making thing yourselves?

:boxing Listen, I am not at all interested in buying one and reselling it. I just want to buy one for cryin out loud! My problem is that I can only cough up 45K and they want at least 50K at every dealership in the state of Va. Is there any dealer out there willing to take 45K for an SSR? Probably not the first year but next summer, I may have a shot. I just wish that they would sell cars at MSRP like so many of the foreign car dealerships do and be done with this haggling business. When we bought our mini, there was none of this Jack up the price garbage and they were in very short supply too. Basically, whoever had their deposit down first got their mini first. I have had a deposit on an SSR for way over a year now and nada! No hope, no deal and certainly little or no information from any chevy dealerships.

I have an SSR ordered for myself at MSRP and in my search I have found another available for October at MSRP at a Chev. dealership. If you want to email me I think I can get you out for $45K if your willing to take the 1SA package with no options. I just spoke with the dealer today and it is still available to be ordered to anyone's specs. Anyone else interested in this vehicle please email me. Dealers and their unknown allocations

I visited a dealer last night to see what allocations they had been given. Their answer "We don't know if we have any allocations." So I marched the sales person over to an internet access computer and got him to log on to ChevyLaunch.com. And to the dealerships surprise they had one allocation for Aug and one for Sept. Here they are sitting on 2 2003 SSRs and don't even know it. So now they are going to get back to me once they figure out what they need to do to get one (?).

So if you've talked to a dealer who doesn't know his allocations or seems to be giving you odd answers, make them log into ChevyLaunch and show you the numbers. Maybe you'll get lucky .

Just found a post on another forum for SSR and seems he was

told that 03 allotment was cancelled by GM to dealers...

Anyone hear anything about this?

Talked yo my dealer friday 08/29/03 .He assured me everything was still on target. My build date is 09/08/03.If thay don't get them out soon I don't see how they can be 03;s.

I would personally refuse to buy any vehicle from any dealer who insists upon GOUGING. What that means is ... I will wait a bit on the SSR (don't need to be the first to have one) ... and NEVER, EVER buy a car from the dealer who wants to rape me on one sale. What does that say about their integrity?

I purchased my C5 Corvette using GM New Vehicle Employee discount at a time when other dealers weren't offering discounts off of MSRP. I now send all of my business referrals to that dealer ... and not the other dealers who were "too good" to take my money on the Corvette. There ... I feel much better now.
