MSPR just over 49K. $3000.00 total out of pocket. 15000 miles a year. 24 month lease. $522.00 per month plus 6% tax per month. Seemed good to me.

The numbers seem fair to me as far as a lease goes. But a lease does not make sense for me. I want to keep this vehicle not drive it for 2 years, lay out over 15K, give it back, and walk away with nothing at the end of 24 months.

A Very Good Deal

I think you did very well. The good news is that at the end of the lease you have several options. One of them being.........to buy it. And at that time I am guessing that you won't be willing to give it back. Congrats,,,welcome to a great family of friends here.

There's no way you could have an 05 for only 3grand down and 15,000 miles per year or at any mileage at that payment. Got to be an 04 or something

As much shopping as i did and with excellent credit it would have taken 3grand down plus the another 3 plus grand down for the TTL. total of around 6grand or so down to get there.

I'll appoligize after i see your contract.. LOL.. AND i want a deal like that one.. i mean DARN! just cant see it because i have been up and down on these smartbuy/lease figures, or even buying conventional.

Here is the deal. All other dealers wanted about $650.00 a month for the same deal. When I declined the offer from one of the dealerships they called back and made the offer on the black car only. They had 10 in stock. I asked why and they showed me that they have been sitting with it since August last year. When I signed the lease in the finance office they showed me a negative amount of about $3,400 that they were loosing on the deal. If anyone is interested send me an email and I will forward the actual deal as it was emailed to me from the dealer here in South Florida.

Why Not Combine Your Buying Power

For the people on the forum who are looking for an SSR why not combine your buying power. If three or four of you get together and approach a dealer and say that you want (4) SSR's and state the options, then tell them you guys are buying as a group. You are going to give your business to one dealer. Then ask that dealer for the best price. Of course, it helps if you guys have certain things arranged like your financing, knowing what you qualify for, etc. I think that the winning dealer would be happy to get you guys. For example if (3 or 4) of you approached a dealer and you each had your own financing or you each knew that you wanted to finance through GMAC then you may be able to get a very good deal. Just a thought.

I wish I had known of (3 or 4) people who were definitely ready to buy an SSR and had their affairs arranged so that we could approach a dealer together. It is possible that collectively we all would have been able to save more money than individually.

By the way i got financing for 5.45% for 60months when i was shopping SSR's.

This story is funny and tells the story of some stealer/dealerships... I got a call today from a local Chevy house.. Young Chevrolet in Dallas. well back when i was shopping yellow SSR's they had an 05 i drove, this was like 6 or so weeks ago and i get a call from the saleman today saying "hey we have a new 04 here" says he didnt know where its been and then he says let me get the details on the new 04 and i'll call ya back. I get a return call with the salemans telling me that this 04 is fully loaded out with 224 miles on it and the reason he or i never seen this 04 sitting around is MR. YOUNG (the owner of the dealership) FORGOT HE HAD THIS ONE IN HIS GARAGE!!!!! HAHAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAA! MAKES ME JUST SICK! These B________ dont care about nothing if he's had a new SSR sitting in his garage all this time and now just realizes it. I could throw up at these rich uncaring guys like him. OH they only want $37,000.00 for it.. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I told him they will have that one for some time to come. And also i told him to tell Mr. Young to take it back to his garage.. its truely a garage queen now!! LOL.

That is a good idea there "E".. so how many ya want? i'll take just one and you'll need ??????? LOL.. I have my financing set and i only wished that texas stealerships tryed to earn my business like some out of towner stealerships tryed. You couldnt get even CLOSE to 30grand here for a remaining 04 like i was offered many times over across the country.

thanks for the kind words also.. Tony.. YELLOW GTO driver.. LOL.

Dont you guys and gals think i bring the party to life again on here??? I see action again on this board.. LOL.. im laughing.. okay someone please answer me this question below.

Currently there is an 05 Redline on Ebay for a buy it now for $38,500.00.. i wrote the guy and told him to fix me up on a smartbuy and its SOLD. He writes me and says he cant do a smartbuy for texas... ????????????????? Now i had offers of others wanting to do this (smartbuys) when i was finding 05's in the 48 to 49grand range a month or so ago. SO whats up with him being a GM dealership and not being able to work me up on a smartbuy program. Sorry for the folks who say "just buy it" i cant now on that amount after buying a new GTO i would need to smartbuy on an 05 model.

Hey thanks again.. T. ;)

I won but Lost on ebay

Ebay auctions: Funny its the first ebay auction i've ever won BUT it says i didnt meet the reserve price. Any chance the sellers write the ones who were the winners of the ebay auction and sale for that last price? And how about buying from a dealer? not a big Chevy or dealership but a guy who's a dealer? is that cool? thats who's selling this 03 SSR and this was on a 2003 Redline with ONLY 701 miles on it.

Came close but i guess not close enough :cuss
