To each their own. A owner came into the speed shop my son manages in York, Pa looking for a part to calculate his speedometer, he just changed rear gears from 3:73 to 3:08. He took pictures and sent me.

Or maybe he has a lot of horsepower under the hood and looking to kill a little low end torque off the line. A lot of the fast street cars went to a 308 gear set.

I would think he is a top end speed guy. Gas mileage may be worse because the effort it will take to move the heavy SSR off the line from a standing start.

I don’t think I have ever seen something so weird and so wrong done so well. The work itself seems to be done very nicely. The theme seems to be a bit off kilter, but as my Dear Old Dad would say, “Whatever blows your dress up.”
