I am afraid you'll have to pay for repairs. Why not take out an extended warranty and solve your problem.Peaches said:Once again, another future worry for the rest of us?
I have been one of the fortunate ones who has had no problems so far - even the "tink" is barely noticeable. Here is my concern: Since I have an '03, when these inevitable problems begin to surface on mine, it will be out of warranty (on time) for every fix. So this means that my fellow fanatics that had their troubles early and got them fixed under warranty are really much better off than me. Since after three years of ownership, their SSR's have got the glitches out, whereas I have all mine to look forward to, (and pay for?) as well! Am I right about this, or will GM do the right thing and fix the defects after the warranty period is up? I. E., if my door handle breaks after the standard warranty period, do I have to pay to get it fixed with the new upgrade kit that fixes both doors, or will it be a freebie?:skep
I have thought about the same things that Peaches has thought about. I also have had very little problems with mine. However, with the retractable top and with some of the issues that have occured with the SSR. I think it is a smart idea to invest in the extended warranty.Purple Penelope- What about buying and extended warranty?? Do it before you 36K miles passes.

Is this an 05 Model? If it is Im going to make my dealer just replace mine before they break.Furykay said:Well it finally happened last week.It broke ,Have to lower the glass to exit. What a bummer. To top it off , the handle repair kit is on BACK ORDER. I noticed the repair is to replace BOTH handles.:banghead :smash
My understanding is all of them have the same issue and the replacement part is the same as what broke. So you might as well wait till it breaks or gets close. Maybe they'll have a redesign by then.Ricochet said:Is this an 05 Model? If it is Im going to make my dealer just replace mine before they break.

The extended warranty idea is probably the way to go. But are most of these problems covered by the ridiculously expensive extended warranty? Also, I've never even had my '03 back to the dealer EVER. I do my own oil changes, and have had no other reason to take it back. Now that I live across the country from where I bought it, I wonder if I'll get hassle from a local dealer that won't be able to look up a nonexistent service record? Is there any way to know for sure if the extended warranty really will cover me in this scenario? Maybe I should just take my chances and buy it anyway, since I don't intend to get rid of mine any time soon. . . .:confusedPurple Penelope said:What about buying and extended warranty??
