Has anyone installed dynatech headers on a 2005 with auto trans and what did you have to do to make the 2004 headers fit?
It may be some time before dynatech has the headers ready for the 2005 LS2 so if I can make the 04 header work without a lot of modifications I may try to install them.

Thanks
Mike

I had a set of Dynatech SuperMaxx headers installed in Dallas, TX on May 19th. My SSR is a 2005, automatic, VIN 17441. The installation was not easy, but was accomplished in about 4 hours. The left side goes in very easily. The problem is the right side header can't go up or down into place without loosening the engine mounts and persuading the engine to "move over" until the header slips past, then all can be re-tightened. A lift is a MUST, I doubt it can be done on the driveway. All of that was worth it, however, because the sound is simply great and the added power is awesome! Chris Adams did mine and he has offered the Forum Members a good price. If you live far away you maybe can't take advantage of his more than reasonable installation charge, but give him a call and see what you can work out. Contact him at (817) 723-8815, or <www.dynatech-headers .com>. You won't find a nicer guy to work with. I stand to gain nothing from this endorsement, just want to help out my fellow SSR owners. Thanks Yaller Dog and Matjow

The reason I ask is that the company that makes the dynatech headers is a local company in my area. I checked with them about the headers for the 04 & 05 and they have not done any R&D on the 05 to make sure the 04 would fit the 05 without any problems. they said they probably would but could not say for sure since they have not tested an 05. With sales on the SSR as low as they have been you can understand why.

Thanks for your reply as I found the answer to my question, yes they will fit.
