Here are a few pics of the headers installed on the SSR. The rest of the pictures are over in the Gallery under Mechanical stuff. There should be 10 shots of various angles.

How hard was the install. Passenger side looks tough. I have previously installed long tubes on my 2000 C5 corvette. Do they sound nice? Is the quality as good as you thought it would be? I thought they weren't going to be ready until the end of January? Inquiring minds want to know.............
These headers were installed by DYNATECH in Boonville, Indiana. They used our SSR as the test platform to ensure fit and quality.
The sound is awesome, the wife says her SSR now sounds like the Corvette when it idles. The SSR now has a nice throat at idle and a bit of a growl when you lay into it.
According to the shop the Passenger side was a tight fit. They had to play with the passenger side more than the drivers side. The system was designed with a CAD program then test fitted and fine tuned in place. It took about a month of bending and measuring to ensure we all get a top quality product!
As far as fit and finish there are no leaks, rattles or anything else from the install and the overall product looks great. We have around 1200 miles since the install and not a problem with anything.
I toured the shop before we turned the SSR over to them and everything I saw was top notch, the design engineers, CNC bending to welding of the flanges and testing in the jig everything was set up to ensure a quality end product.

Thanks

headers

Leo,

Its' been awile that youv'e had the dynatech headers on your SSR, I was wondering how the finish was doing?I realise that there is heat discoloration but overall is the stainless holding up?
I ordered a set back in November and should be getting mine in Jan. THEY LOOK REALLY GREAT! Thanks for the pics.

Craig
Craig,
The headers have just a slightly discolored, normal heat cycles. They show some rainbow affect around the top and near the collectors. The stainless is holding up very well. In the pictures the SSR was just driven after some more rain and the headers cleaned right up. We are very pleased with the fit and finish of the headers and how they fit overall with the exhaust.

Scott,
I'll shoot some pictures from the tips. Is this the exhaust tips towards the front or do you want something a little closer to the collectors? If you want the shot from the exhaust tips I'll snap a few in a little bit here. We are making a little grocery run getting ready for the big snow tomorrow.

Is anyone interested in a sound clip of the headers? I can try to perform one with my camera, not sure of how successful I'll be but if there is interest I'll attempt it and post the sound up here.
Leo
Yeah a sound bit would be great!
Yes... Yes... Yes!
Okay I'll play try to capture it later on. It is snowing right now and don't want to get the little lady's truck dirty.

I posted a sound clip on the other thread. I couldn't get it to upload to this site because it is an AVI file. Sorry.
If it does not play shoot me an email and I can send it out.

Fred,
The folks at Dynatech said these will fit the LS2 engine. They should be available in Mid January. The website is www.dynatechheaders.com The phone number is 1-800-848-5850. I don't know if they will be open tomorrow or not. We are getting clobbered with snow here, 12 inches and possible 12 more tonight! The shop is located here in Boonville Indiana. Give them a shout if you are interested. These are great looking and performing headers. I posted the dyno sheets over in the gallery. I'll attach them here as well.
