Last week at the Ohio gathering, I was embarrassed when I opened the hood and those pesty water spots were all over the place. Clean everything up today with dilution of CLR and water. Cleaned everything off with acetone and now I'm going to put Mother's Billet Metal polish. Question to you. How many times do you wash and clean your microfiber towels and application pads?

I buy the small 12x12 from Harbor Freight when they go on sale and use them for dirty work like Mothers and toss then when I am done with them. I also do the same if using them for putting on wax. I don't think you can get the wax or mother's out of them so easier to toss and use new.

I buy the bundles from Costco. I use new ones for finish waxing and cleaning. Then wash 'em and use 'em as shop rags.

It gives me a headache just thinking about the effort to clean under that hood!!!!! I am like @Stlhotrod , when a microfiber towel becomes dirty or saturated I put it in the rag bag to be used as a shop cloth wiping up grease, under truck/car and so on.

I always used a micro fiber towel on the engine after I washed the truck to keep the spots to a minimum. I rarely had issues with the bling when I did that. Of course that does not help if you daily driver it in the rain.

As always your engine compartment looks great. I think however I can still see a couple water spots. You should probably go look for those.

Forget water spots..... I have leaf imprints! One day ... that's all it took was a rain storm to get some leaves stuck on the paint and the freakin "juices" etched the paint. 🤬

No, just laid intake on top of the support than made a template. Just cut a little at a time.

I do. I you ever had Spectre or K&M filters and cleaned them you will understand.

Hey, SWT RYD it's been a few months, but I finally got my cold air intake on. It is very hard when you can only stand for about 60 min. at a time, and my left hand does not do what I want it to do. All because of a stroke I had a few years ago. I finished up today, thanks for the information on it.
