Has anyone had any experience with the Escort cordless (no wire to plug in, runs on double-A batteries) radar detector. I realize it may not have quite the capabilities of the "plug-in" Escort Passport 8500 but I sure do like the no cord feature. You can buy the new Solo S-2 off E-Bay for around $260 plus postage. Thought I'd inquire and hope to get some info. from someone who has had first hand experience with this particular radar detector before I buy one! Thanks.

do not waste your money on any radar detectors other than Valentine 1 (V1). Only trust a V1, the rest is just hype...

Most car enthusiast will tell you that V1 is the best just as they will tell you Zaino is the best polish/treatment for your paint. I wish they'd pay me for plugging their product but I have no financial interest in either.

I couldn't agree more with what redssrloaded says (on both accounts-Zaino and Valentine1) but to limit the discussion here to the V1....there is no battery powered radar detector by any company that can compete with the wired detectors...and, no other detectors have the directional arrows to show where the signal is coming from. I have V1s in the SSR and the Corvette but a (wired) Escort in the Impala...and the directional arrows are sorely missed. Bottom line: there is a measureable difference in the performance and useability, and the cost difference is very worthwhile.

Paid for itself

I purchased the S2. No cords - easy transport to my other vehicles...

It HAS alerted me to the law enough times that it has paid for itself...

I'm happy with the ease of use - and heads up early warning...

kwhopper89, Thanks for the input. That's exactly what I was looking for, a Solo S-2 owner who has first hand experience with this particular CORDLESS detector.

Please do yourself a favor and buy V1. I have never felt this strongly about a product. Arrows are a must.
