Today a friend of mine was following me through town and when we stopped he asked me if I had turned on my windshield washers. I did not... He then said when I hit the gas his window got sprayed with something and it feels oily.. he rubbed his windshield.. Sure enough there was tiny spots on his windshield and they felt oily? I got to thinking and I have also noticed that at idle my moter does have a vibration.. A brand new V8 should be idleing smooth as silk yes?
Has anyone experienced this.? Maybe I have a miss?
Thanks,
Zack :confused

A lot of gas stations have water in their gas! the motor doesn't burn water so it tosses it out the exhaust and mixed with the exhaust it will be "oily". It's hard to get good gas, but try to buy from another gas station after this tank and monitor it! sometime the best price isn't the best deal!

More Likely

Since water is a byproduct of the combustion of hydrocarbons (buring gas) it can condense in the exhaust system and exit as droplets or a fine mist. One the whole exhaust system is warm the water will no longer condense and the 'problem' goes away since all the water leaves as vapor.

Another worse problem

You may actually have some other fluid leak. Check the underside of your SSR and see if you can see 'wet' or 'slick' spots. As you apply more torque (hitting the gas), more fluid loss can occur.

First question should be Have you checked your oil?????? Is the dipstick reading staying the same or is it dropping?? If it isn't dropping then its probably just the condensation. If its dropping you need to get things checked.

Zack - when you check the dipstick, if the oil level is higher you may have aleak from a cracked head or block. I would have it checked out anyway. Cheap insurance!
