My fan speed switch is getting pretty goofy. High speed (5) works fine. 4, not at all, and 1 may be gone too. Settings 2 and 3 work, but you need to "play" with the dial a little to get them to kick on. What's the fix? It's a 2005 vehicle. Only 18K miles and I've already replaced the stepper motors on the gauges.

As mentioned above, the problem is the rheostat controller. I have replaced mine twice over the years. Easy, cheap, pluck and chuck. It has nothing to do with the vehicle mileage or gauges.

I also have a fan switch that is intermittent...usually works first start up of the day but if I turn the switch off and then back on to any of the speed settings no luck....until I hit a speed bump or pothole and then the fan gets "bumped back to life" and will work in all settings. Seems like I have an intermittent "open " in the circuit. I'll have to check the array connectors but curious if anyone else has had this intermittent fan speed control problem....all other a/c and environmental controls work flawlessly. Appreciate any advice!! Regards, Christian PS this is only for my 04...05 working great.
