Hi guys,

Took delivery on my 04 ultra violet last night. Will post the vin as soon as I know how to do that. I am assuming I use the last 4 numbers but not sure, other stuff:

chrome wheels
running boards
carpeted cargo
cargo net
tow package
1SB package
246 miles

Problems: one center cap twists; hood prop needs replacing; driver window does not seat correctly and have a "due bill" for minor scratch on driver door so will have to go into the shop soon but at least that's only 1/4 mile from work

Found lots cheaper east of the Mississippi but not so in SoCal with all the options and the color I wanted...but didn't want to drive, fly, worry about smog, CA taxes and license

Not as after market savy as you all seem to be so if there are any "must haves" I should look into, let me know

Congrats, Artsmart

You'll love your new toy.

Serial # is the last 5 digits - if it's early production 04, first digit will be a 0.

Congratulations!

You won't go wrong no matter what you do or don't do, but if if you are going to ride with the top down, you'll love a wind screen. Chevy makes one that fits nicely, and WindsupreSSR makes aone as well. Do a search for the threads and give it a try. Happy driving :cool

Art Smart, that makes two art teachers driving SSR's!!! Congratulations. You did very well indeed. I paid a lot more for my 03 and did not even get the towing package. Your students will love it. find a good curb near an island, get to work early, and park as close as you can to the curb without scuffing your new wheels! That should keep it somewhat protected. I think the lightnsight for $15 was a great add on and cost effective. It allows you to see the stop lights when you are right under them. Norva Plastics in Norfolk, VA makes some excellent SSR logos you can attach to your carpet area in the bed and the underhood emblem from billet alluminum is a also nice. Enjoy. :jester

Make sure they adjust the window for sealing rather than work on the seals. Tilting the window more inboard at the top is the best way to get the windows to fit the seals. This is a trial and error process since you have to remove the inner door panel to get at the adjustment, but the inside guide for the window is part of the door panel. Your dealer is probably not experienced with this adjustment so you will know as much as them unless they have sold many SSRs and serviced them a lot.
