Florida SSRs going to Savannah

Who's going?
It would be cool to drive that distance as a group.
Suggestions for meeting up??

I'm on the north end of central Florida and right off I-95. Something here for a final grouping?

Lets throw some ideas around and maybe even meet up with a few more from north of here.

I plan to drop by and join up with Jeff on the way to you place. I'll get directions from Jeff to his place if you can get directions to him on ow to get to yours.

I think I saw where dittonzssr has signed up as well. Isn't he up in your area?

From my house to the hotel in Savannah is just over 200 miles with a Mapquest estimated drive time of 3 hrs and 22 min. :lol
What time frame is planned for the festivities to start in Savannah?
Once we have some sort of idea on that we can work backwards and make plans for meeting times along the way. We can plan on meeting at my house or there are a few decent eating places right off the interstate.
Dittonzssr lives nearby. My house is real easy to get to, only about 2 min off I-95.

Some preliminary thoughts.
Tahoejoe suggested we plan on arriving in Savannah between 11AM and 12 Noon. Give us some sightseeing time. That would mean leaving from here in Palm Coast about 8 AM. With a 200 mile drive, 1 P-call(someone will have to

), and so far 1 stop to pick up a hitchiker to the caravan along the way, that departure time should work.
Thoughts are meet at CrackerBarrell in Palm Coast (exit 289 on I-95) around 7AM for breakfast and grouping up. Leave here around 8AM. That would give a decent window for grouping up.
For those coming a long distance there are a couple Inns right off I-95 and on the same street as Cracker Barrell. There is a Sleep Inn, Hampton Inn and a Microtel Inn. The Microtel is the least expensive. If you want to stay on the ocean for $300 a night that is also available :lol If you come in Friday evening we could meet up for dinner or even burgers on the grill at my place.

OK there are some ideas from me. Lets get a little feedback and set something up.

Mike, I am good with your plan. I'll leave Cocoa at 6:30 AM to make sure I arrive at the CrackerBarrell by 8:00AM. Give us 2 minutes to P and we'll be ready to launch with you.

Jeff, if you still want to meet up at an exit before that let me know. If you just want to go have breakfast with Dingbat et. al. no problems...I'll just see you there. Let me know.

ChrisXXL...I know I still owe you some hotel recommendations near Cocoa. I promise to get you something by the end of the weekend.

Cam thanks but if we are sticking with the crackerbarrell plan it seems to make sense to grab a room from one of the places Mike has posted. I'll look into them tonight.

Burgers on the grill sounds great but mapquest says it will take me 4 hours and 8 minutes to get there and the earliest I can leave friday night will be around 7pm so I'll see you for breakfast

plan on coming over friday night and staying off i-95 exit 289- we'll be coming over on hwy 60 from tampa to i95(vero beach) how far north is exit 289-thanks

OK gang, ya'll coming up I-95? I will be at the Brunswick (GA) exit at the TA (Travelcenters of America, formerly Truckstops of America) I-95 at U.S. 17, Exit 29, Zip-31523. They have BP/Amoco fuel if needed. What would be a good time to meet ya'll there?

My "Streets" program says Palm Coast is 120 miles from Brunswick Ga.

If we leave at 8:00 AM we should be coming by Brunswick between 9:45 and 10:00.

Does that sound correct to others near Palm Coast?

From vero beach it is about 140 miles. Would it be shorter and easier to come over on I-4 to Daytona and north from there???

Two more weeks to go!!!!

I just emailed 11 additional Florida SSR owners (5 of whom attended our May cruise) that I just don't know if they are regulars at this site. Hopefully we'll get another few to sign on!

Hey guys, take a look at the "Activities in Savannah" thread. There is a local car club that is having several events in Savannah that weekend, Looks like we'll have lots to do and a fun time for all car lovers!
