Flowmaster Exhaust $322 no shipping

I found a web site called parts and accessories and they had A Flowmaster exhaust part # F1317399 for a 03 and 04. No sales tax and free shipping with a price of 322.28. I just priced flowmaster down town 700 bucks. This seems to good to be true.

If you can get the cat-back system (not just the muffler or other parts alone) for this price, jump on it! Not long ago, the price of the Flowmaster cat-back system went through the roof when the price of stainless steel went crazy. I was fortunate enough to buy mine just before this happened.

If this is the real deal, it could be that it is a system that has been in stock for a while at the old pricing, and since the supplier probably bought it before the price increase(s), he will still hold original pricing.

This system was a little more difficult to install than you might think, especially lining up all the pieces so that the rear exit points look the same. Also, read the directions on where to cut the old system out of the way. If you do it like they suggest, it only requires two cuts, and saves a bunch of time to boot.

The sound is great! It's not too loud at idle, but has a deep, throaty sound during normal acceleration and highway driving. I'd do it again in a minute! :cool

Peaches,

Is the whole system stainless or just the tips? I am under the impression its just the tips?

I really like the sound of the stock system, does this just enchance, ampilfy or does it change the characteristics of the sound.

Speds the system is stainless and it is the entire unit.
Russr,

as per their site:

Our systems are designed with the latest technology to provide even better performancethan a single Flowmaster muffler installation.

Flowmaster's systems will improve acceleration and passing power, as well as increase fuel mileage. Every system is individually engineered and dyno-tested for each application and includes all required mounting hardware.

All tubing is mandrel bent for superior exhaust gas flow, and is a key to the system's performance improvements.

Both mufflers and tubing are fabricated from aluminized steel for corrosion resistance.

Is this stainless??

speds you got a point. I am not sure. I thought it was stainless. Even aluminum steel is still ok. It will outlast us. Probably need to check with one of the shops in town who install them. They would know. I do know this same system is usually around 700 bucks without install.

Stainless Magnaflow

My Magnaflow cat-back system is completely stainless steel. The muffler itself is polished stainless steel, as are the tips. I checked the whole thing with a magnet to prove it to myself. Maybe all Magnaflow products are not all stainless, but this one definitely is.

I, too, wondered if the sound would be $357 better before I bought it. I took the chance, and I think it sounds much better. Like I said earlier, it has a deep, throaty sound like you want from a V-8, not some tinny, irritating racket like you hear from the "tuners". It's not so loud, though, so as to attract the cops, unless you really get on it.

As far as the advertised performance increase, I can't tell the difference. It might be there, but I can't "feel" it. It just sounds good! :yesnod
