From 2003 to 2005, which color SSR sold the most. If it has already been posted, forgive me for my lack of using the search button.

Configuration Data Base?

I would like to have a S/N listing ( all 22,000+ of them) of the configurations and colors that shipped from LCC. I would also like to know where they shipped to.....(Dealer, State, etc). This would be the beginning of a tremendous database that could be further populated with owners, locations and so on through voluntary submission of information of this forum. A regular update on the mileage of each owner's SSR would also give some "lead-the-fleet" data on failures / problems. This might also be the basis for monitoring the service bulletin applicability and notification to members.

I guess that makes me the volunteer, eh?

Whaddaya think?

How much info is GM willing to share?

We can start our own database, as our membership makes up about 10% of the population. Serial numbers are sequential. That is the starting point.

Total membership might be around 10% of those sold. You have to take in to account not all members have an SSR. Not all members are active. The active membership probably only accounts for 1-2% of the units sold.

Even though we only have a small "active" membership, we are the recognized knowledge base for SSR owners. This forum has a very good following and is honest and communicates well.

What seems to be lacking is a sound data package that allows us to notify (for example) all of the 2004 1SB 6speed owners that they can have service bulletin xxx accomplished to eliminate the issue that was identified a year ago and is now "old business".

I would like to do some brainstorming with a few key members and a representative from GM on how this forum can be used.... for any number of communication items. It might even give them some free feedback on their product.

It would be great if we had access to bulletins where we could go into the dealership and say I want this done, heres bulletin #so and so. Some of this info has already come out and been used.
We all know the dealer will not go out of his way to let you know of something that has come up. First we have to complain a few times and then something might be done. A good example would be the post on another thread about wind noise in the cabin. I'd be willing to bet that more often than not if anyone were to complain about cabin noise most would be told nothing can be done even though there is the bulletin. Hmmmm shall we test this?????
I was told by my service rep that my radio reception was about the same as several other SSRs he checked. One station on scan seemed to be normal. I said something about replacing the windshield (told him I'd wait til warranty was almost over) and he said the manager would probably not go along with that as a fix. We will see about that! Then it was "suggested" that "you know you have full glass coverage on your insurance"
Why is it so hard to get something done when there is a bulletin out there????? If Chevy says "heres the problem, Heres the fix" there should be no questions about having the stuff fixed.

This is how I did it on my website...follow the link and scroll down to the ZR1 production options. I know there's a number you can call at GM for the production numbers, also you can get the breakdown of how many colors were produced for each year, especially the yellow and red, because of the high cost preparation and pigmentation of these two colors. I'm sure that there is someone here that knows someone internally that would be happy to give the info out.
