All in one phone call. Well, alright, two phone calls.

Around 11 o'clock Monday the place I ordered my rims from called :) (figured, hey, this is nice that they're calling to confirm my order for the wheels). But to my surprise the fella on the other end, was calling to tell me that they had run out of stock on the front wheels (major bummer) :banghead . Told him I needed them buy the Power Tour. The fella said he had a call into them, but hadn't heard from anyone yet, as far as getting more in. He said he would try again and call me back. A short time later, he called again with updated information. The earliest they could see more front rims would be 3 to 4 weeks out. whoo booy. This is gonna cut it close. Told him to keep them on order, because I had already committed to that rim by ordering the tires which will be here Tuesday or Wednesday. Also told him that as soon as they came in to let me know and we can make some kind of arrangement to get them to me overnight if need be. Maybe even a drop ship to save some time would help.

All I can do now is wait :mad . And the wait is gonna kill me. (Well may kill is a little strong.) How about severe pulmonary stress coupled with slight brain trauma.

Hang in there. I've been having the same problems with my other car. order what order. Con rods built to the wrong length. Ok new ones will be anothe 12 to 16 weeks on top of the 8 already. Cam grinder didn't do the righ batch of cams. Heat treater did the wrong heat treat - material into trash start over.
So yeah i agree :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead :banghead

Keep on top of them and keep your options open. I hope yourluck is better than mine.

Smoothies

YES I WENT WITH THE SMOOTHIES. THE 20"REARS ARE IN STOCK, BUT THEY RAN OUT OF 18" FRONTS.

True on the 6-8 weeks. My insider at Boyds told me it would be 6-8 before I would see them, so I ordered tem from Newstalgia wheels whose website showed that they had them in stock and ready to ship. Via my first post, it seems that Newstalgia had some on order already and are just waiting for completion and shipment.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they make it here on time. Even if its FRIDAY June 3rd., being as I'm only an hour from Milwaukee I could do them Friday and still make the Tour with the new wheels.

Fuzzy

Having a similar situation with mine - two car shows May 21 and 22, and my wheels will only leave Colorado this weekend to go to Newstalgia for tires, then shipped back to the west coast - looks like we're doing the shows with stock wheels. :mad

Don't like the sound of Boyds being closed - I think I'd be making a call to them tomorrow for a heads up.

Why the Delay

Why the delay? Is it because of material shortages? With China's growing economy and build-up many businesses that use steel, aluminum and especially titanium have to get their orders in as soon as possible. Otherwise the metal gets committed to China and elsewhere. There isn't the surplus that existed a year ago.

Our Boyds (Renegades) were supposed to be 6-8 weeks and we got them in 5..absolutely beautiful too. We'd heard horror stories about flaws, miswelds, etc but these were perfect. With the new Mother's Wax power ball we just got for polishing-it'll be easy to keep them looking like new too. :cool
