I would suggest that you place your finger on top of relay #42 while somebody is trying to crank -- be sure #42 -- you should feel it click indicating the ECM is commanding the relay on. But could still be bad relay -- be sure you are on proper relay, fuel pump relay (#35) may also click during this time.
Then check for voltage going into relay - and out of relay with voltmeter. I will try to include some pictures on how to do this later this week.
You could also try to swap #42 and #43 as I stated earlier. --- Problem may change and still not start but now will crank and not fire -- but you will have then determined relay is at fault.

Quick test of ignition switch -- check for voltage at fuse #5 (crank fuse) with key in crank position. While in crank - it should be near 12 volts!

I have included schematic of starter wiring so you can see related fuses and relays
I also include fuse box diagram

Anyone have a spare cover? Even once it's resolved, he's gonna need that.
I have one thats painted wrong shade of red, close but no cigar.(long story from painter spring 19) Also not for SSR so label incorrect. The correct fitment is no problem from numerous years of tailblazers. If he has a pick n pull nearby might be cheaper then me shipping out my mismatched one.

Don't forget the cover under the cover. This will also swap from trailblazer.

And double check battery cable connections. After it heats up near the exhaust it might become a liitle loose to prevent the high current requied of the starter

03-04 fuse box is NOT the same as the 05-06. The layout is different and the decal under the lid is different

Mike
I read this as referring to the missing fuse box cover, not the fuse box itself. Because he also refers to trailblazer that will fit. I currently have a trailblazer fuse box cover on mine because i didn't want to paint the OE cover.

All this reminds me that i still need to print a better copy of diagram
