Hey, Anybody know the gear ratio's for the 6 speed standard transmission? Is it the same as the Vette's? I couldn't find them in the manual! Thanks, Fred :confused :seeya

I don't think it's as steep as the 04 Z06 6 speed in 1st and 2nd.
Good gas mileage if you get into 6th early ( w/o lugging of course).

For an infidel who hasn't much paid any attention to the Corvette, what is Skip Shift?

That's where the durned thing insists on shifting from first to fourth by locking out second and third. It's supposedly to improve fuel economy ratings, but you can override it by hammering the snot out of it - then it happily climbs through the gears.

So the government has decided that if you like shifting through all the gears you paid for, you can't do it by being gentle. How's that improving fuel economy?

I don't follow Vettes a whole lot either, but I remember friends doing strange things to eliminate that great feature. Do they have a way of overriding it, other than driving hard?

That would have really torqued me were I inclined to have a Vette with a manual.

Skip shift

The Z28 also had this horrible invention.....but lucky for me I always have my foot in it.
Actually if you just get the engine over a certain rpm, it deactivates the lock out.
