OK - It's just over two weeks until the Kingsburg Car Show - SSR Generals Highway Run...

There has been some interest in a dinner gathering on Saturday night. How does Cattlemens sound? http://www.beststeakinthewest.com/

Please post here if interested - and how many in your party, so that I can reserve space.

Also - for Friday night - I'll treat to "Three Crowns" burgers, but there are a few other options in town if burgers aren't for you... Again, please let me know how many want Burgers...

Sunday: SSR RUN - Since the snow in the Sierra MAY be a factor - I think it's best to make a decision on Saturday night which route we want to take... See attached Maps...

Count Us In

Add me and my wife to the Cattlemans list.
Stitch wants to be the first one on the after dinner bones list :lol

I was thinking we could give a couple of awards (verbal or otherwise) at the dinner. One is the long distance award - whoever drove their SSR the longest distance to get there. Two, hard luck award to whoever has the best hard luck story of their problems trying to get there.

Either way it sounds like a good time will be had by all.. :party

ChevyMall was kind enough to donate a couple of items - I planned on giving those away - plus I have a couple of goodies to give away too...

Open to all ideas!!!

The map brings back a lot of memories. I used to backpack out of Lodgepole about 50 pounds ago and my last wife was born and raised in Delano. In fact we scattered her ashes in Mineral King. Have a great time - wish we could be there.

Goodnite Llogger, goodnite KWhopper, Nite hdflstf and so on :lol

Still tryin to make it - scheduling things to be done on the SSR prior to PowerTour is beginning to leave no wiggle room to sneak off with the truck!!

Have a little gas saver project car I could tag along in :lol
But that jis wouldn't be right!! Its a Ford :cuss Might find Driver Returning On Foot!! :yawn

Borrow an '05 from your local dealership. :lol

Tell 'um it's to help boost sales... heck - we'll even fly a dealsership banner!

Maybe I can talk the major car show sponsor (Liberty Chevy - Selma) to part w/ one of theirs for a few hours on Sunday! :cool

You could bring a video cam and scout ahead of the pack - get some great 'SSR parade- drive-by' videos. :ssr

(Remember GUNS are not allowed in National parks - so stash it/them before the Ash Mountain gate....)

I might try to make it if I get these dual jet engines installed :glol
So, you found the switch for the retractable wings too??? I have had good luck with the F404-GE-F1D2 engine - GE did well on this power plant... It's the same as used in the F-111 stealth...

Physical Dimensions
Fan/Compressor Stages 3/7
Low-Pressure Turbine/ High-Pressure Turbine 1/1
Maximum Diameter (Inches) 35
Length (Inches) 83 (JUST HANGS OUT A BIT WITH THE TAILGATE DOWN...)
Dry Weight (Lb.) 1,730
Application F-117A

Power Specifications
Specific Fuel Consumption at Maximum Power 0.79
Max. Power at Sea Level (Lb.) 10,540
Overall Pressure Ratio at Maximum Power 24
Bypass Ratio 0.36

The F404-GE-F1D2 engine has proven to be rugged, reliable and survivable in combat. Just strap it in (bungie cords work well) and come on out to the west coast!)

Keith, FYI, the owner of the Selma Auto Mall ( Liberty is part of ), is driving a red '05 that was on showroom floor. We bought ours from them a few weeks ago, must say the people there were a pleasure to deal with. Perhaps he may want to join in?

Liberty Chevy is the Major sponsor of the Kingsburg car show - I know those folks well. (I took flyers to them and they seem happy to help spread the word...)

MY beef with them goes back to 2003. I started in early '03 to line up a dealer for their ONLY '03 allocation. (Not all dealerships even got one to sell). Liberty had told me I was #1 on the list for their SSR.

Right after the SSR paced the 2003 Indy 500 in May, Vin's #2 and #3 were sold at Charity auctions - drawing 140k each. Next time I stopped in at Liberty, they informed me that their '03 would cost me $85,000.00. I told them to take a hike...

I even offered them 10k over MSRP - AND to display advertising for their dealership. NO GO... Thank goodness for eBay - 'cause I didn't end up having to pay 10k over!

SO - I do look at them thru a different light now. And with the lot being so cramped - I take my SSR somewhere else (Reedley) for service - even though they are the closest to me.

That would be fun! The lil scout would be at the bottom of a tight downward winding curvy road, and here comes how many thousands of pounds of excited SSR's coming at me!! -Or runnin me over!!! :lol

I can see the fun has already begun!! I am still holding out hope of makin it -
