Maybe some of you have more info, I am selling my 96 Tahoe and either getting a 2002 or 2003 Tahoe. The thing I am not sure about is the 4.8 and 5.3 engine. My 96 has the 5.3 vortec and I love it. Is there any difference except for the 10Hp? I haven't driven either yet. No time and it has been raining. Thanks y'all are great! :seeya

your 96 has a 5.7 not 5.3 totally different engines 4.8 will underpower a tahoe especially if you ever tow anything I have a 2002 5.3 tahoe great truck also If you try to trade a 4.8 truck or tahoe it will be greatly discounted

Gosh you are right. Typo on the 5.7. That is exactly what I thought, but I needed to ask. Do you know when they put the rear air in the Tahoe? In Texas we really need the rear air.

Traded my SSR for a 2004 Z71 Tahoe and I love it although I do miss the convertible. I'm getting about the same mileage that the SSR got but have a lot more room to stretch out.

It was either the SSR or the Z06. ;)
