Got my running boards.

Hi,
I picked up my running boards yesterday for my 04 Slingshot. I had a friend at an auto parts store order them for me. Well, I went over to his store to pick them up and saw a sticker on the box that made a HUGE smile come to my face. The sticker said YELLOW. I had to open the box then and there and sure enough they were already body color!
I haven't seen body color runningboards on ANY of the SSRs in the show rooms and was expecting the chrome/black set that I have always seen.
It was a very nice supprise and I'll post before and after pics soon.

My thoughts as well on the naked aspect.

Kinda like a 68 camaro without the spoiler... (ok maybe not THAT bad)

The boards look nice color matched. Don't take this the wrong way but I think they take away from the curves of the fender flares...

Not taken the wrong way at all

The main reson I wanted them was to stop some of the dirt and ROCKS from being slung up on the back fenders. :mad

:agree Danny, I also installed mudflaps and believe me, the boards do a good job and the flaps finish it. AND most people don't even notice that I have them.

Those boards look great. I think that I will keep mine. My better half like the ones we have.

Color-matched Boards

The color-match really looks great, especially in the yellow! When my silver ones get a few more dings and scratches, I'll have to paint them Redline Red to match. :yesnod

Thanks for the before and after shots. That really helped me decide to put them on my SSR. Were they tough to install?

You'll need a ratchet, a 10mm and a 15mm socket and something to gague the spacing off the body. (don't tell anyone but I used my finger as a feeler gague)
Everything is with the kit, took me about 15-20 min.

Well I must say after the second door ding in a week its time for some boards so I ordered some from GM. RedLine Red. I hope it helps otherwise I wont be able to take her to WalMart.... :lol :thumbs
