Hi Matjow,

I feel your excitement! You are going to love these headers.Thay are so clean and well designed.Did you get them Ceramic coated? If not, thats ok they sill look great.Did you know that these stainless headers and part can be easily polished to a high chrome like luster?I just chuck up a polishing wheel in my drill and use white polishing rouge and whith a little patience, you can turn these parts into show quality pieces.
Glad to see someone else makin their SSR talk louder and having funn with this cool truck!

America needs more muscle cars!

Didn't do the ceramic coating. But, you are right, they look great as is. I can't believe the better performance already. I have an automatic and I chirped it into second gear. A Corsa exhaust is next, but that will have to wait a few months. :seeya

It's hard having restraint when it comes to puttin cool stuff on these things.Headers are a big step and I think well worth the money.I kinda had to cool it myself after my headers came......Then I lowered it!

Received my headers Thursday as well...

Installation will be on Tuesday. Really looking forward to this. :thumbs

Craig,
How did you like the sound after the headers were installed? A big difference or just so-so? What about performance??

Have you gone to a cat back system or not. Debating whether a Magnaflow or Corsa system should be used. Is there a major difference between the two or not, performance wise.

Questions, questions, questions.

P/P

Peace :flag

performance

Purple,
I installed the 14" magnaflow catback about 6 months before the headers. I noticed a large gain in torque and throttle response by just installing the cat back.
The headers just blew me away with the sound and added mid-upper rpm power increase. The other day I took her up to 135. Man she got there quick and was stil l pullin hard at 5500 rpm in third gear.
She is definately a "HOT ROD" now! you are going to love it.

cat back

Purple,

I forgot. I guess its' preference on the Corsa/ mMagnaflow issue. I did the mMagnaflow because there was a local custom shop here that was able to increase the inlet pipe size to 3" form the stock 2.75" and then utilise my stock stainless tail pipe tips. This saved a lot of coin and keeps the stock appearance.

Matjow,
When you take it to the front end shop for alignment, they may not have the SSR specs. If so, tell them to use the Trailblazer specs. My mechanic didn't know that the camber adjustment is done at the lower control arm and told me there was no adjustment provision on this vehicle until I suggested he should check out the Trailblazer specs. and oops-there it is! We adjusted the camber to stock specs as well as the tow in. Caster was ok.

Thanxx, Craig,
I preferred magnaflow in the 1st place, but wanted an oponion from an experienced user. I value your take on this as previous discussion on things have helped me before.

Dynatech are the best exhaust headers on the market. You'll have no problems with them. Enjoy the extra horsepower. :reddevil

P/P,

Magnaflow is dual outlet muffler, the Corsa is single outlet similar to the stock exhaust. That made the decision for me. That plus the Mag is stainless. I love the Mag sound, much more aggressive.

the Corsa systems are made from 304 stainless and uses
sound cancellation technology in their mufflers, very high-tech,
they are also GM licenced, I have a touring system on my SSR
and the sport system on my twin-turbo GTO and am happy
with both, great sounds ! No drone inside the car like others.

Yes. They are long tube headers. Dynatech part number is 115-735300S with the hi flow cats or 115-735300 for just the headers. But, get the cats too. The price difference is very minimal. :seeya

Drone?

Purple,

In response to Ricks comments,It all sounds good and I don't know about the Corsa technology,But if I was worried about sound cancellation, I would have bought a BMW. No, I want this thing to rock! and I don't much care about gas milage or GM licencing.Sorry, It's just my persomal preference.
I will tell you that the stock exhaust has a harsh "DRONE" that I didn't like at all.
Changing to the headers and Magnaflow muffler got rid of that noisy vacum cleaner irritation.
while cruising down the road, you can talk and listen as well as being in any other vehicle and when you get on it....well, who wants to talk while gettin on it anyway. It's very agressive at WOT.
The vacum cleaner Drone has been replaced by the high performance grumble as you can hear the individual popping of the cylinders. I usually don't play the radio cause it messes up the rythym.
