I have a question for yor 04 silver owners.
Is the bottom side of your hood painted silver or is the bottom side left in a gray primer finish?

I am having a problem with my hood not clearing the top of the passenger fender when the hood is raised therefore rubbing off the paint on the top of the passenger fender. Upon further checking it appears that the bottom of the hood was never painted and also at some point the hood hinges have been adjusted.

I am concerned that at some point either in production or at dealer something happened to my hood.

Any info would be appreciated.
Also any one know the daily production through the month of June including serial numbers?

Thanks

Have you talked to your dealer? I would go back get it on record about the damage and your concerns. They should fix it and make it right. My yellow is painted up to the heat shield but I haven't looked under that. Was this a used vehicle?

vehicle is new

Thanks for your response. Problem is the dealer is in Detroit & I am in Knoxville. The vehicle is new and had 7 miles on it when I flew up to detroit and picked it up. The dealer has stated they did not make any changes to the hood or adjustments which makes me think it was done in production.

Warranty is what it is, you should be able to take it to any dealer and if they any good at all will work with you on this. There are disclosure laws even for dealers. Get a second opinion take it to a body shop or 2.

Dealers

Take it to Beaty at Cedar Bluff or Reeder on Clinton Highway. It doesn't matter that you bought yours in Michigan. Our first SSR came from Ann Arbor and the local dealer here took care of the warranty with no problems.

P.S. I was born and raised in Karns and my kid brother used to work at Beaty Chevrolet. Go Vols!!

Regarding you paint question about the underside of the hood. My slingshot yellow appears to have only received the primer and color coats on the underside of the hood, but NO clearcoat. So what you're perceiving as grey primer may, in fact, just be the lack of the clearcoat.

thanks

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions and replys.
Does any of you know the answer to the question concerning the daily serial numbers? My serial number is 11313 and was produced on 6/15/04. I have seen some serial numbers that are advertised on ebay to have a production date of 6/14/04 and a serial number about 100 higher than mine.
If this is true, it just does not add up.
That is why I was wanting the information on the production serial numbers.

once again thanks.
