We are here to help, catch up with folks we haven’t seen in a while and meet new owners. Please come and introduce yourself.

The work happens roughly on a first come, first served basis with your help and the parts you bring. The help may be holding a light, grabbing a tool, or turning wrenches with us if you’re so inclined.

There are some jobs that take more time and/or require specialized expertise or tools from some of our members that may be busy working on another job, or they may need to be performed at a particular station, so jobs may be bumped based upon availability of resources.

Nobody likes working on a hot R, especially underneath or in the engine compartment. If you have driven in and are planning to get some suspension, frame or engine bay work done, please raise your hood when you arrive.

Please check-in with me or Jeannie when you arrive, so we know you are here and what work you’d like to get done. I know this may seem obvious, but we’ve actually had a person or two show up, hang around a while and then get frustrated when we didn’t work on their R, and we thought they were just visiting.

Type of work that can be done:
  • Diagnosing issues
  • Reading codes and talking about what they mean. We don’t “just clear them”, as they will come right back.
  • FOB programming
  • Changing ignition switches
  • Installing parts from Simple Engineering, e.g. stiffening plates, cross members, radiator supports, shocks, cooling fans, cooling hoses, surge tanks, Muth Mirrors, lift struts, roof struts, spare tire kits, etc.
  • Serpentine and A/C belt changes
  • ABS module removal - I can do the soldering repair, but won’t do it there so it will have to be reinstalled after you get back home.
  • Water pump replacement
  • Shifter bushings, lower or upper.
  • Stepper motor replacement & cluster LEDs - Please let us know in advance, so we can have enough steppers and LEDs on hand.
  • Window adjustments
  • Door handle repair
  • Door module installation
  • Headlight LED installation.
  • LED kit installations
  • Battery installation/swap
  • etc, etc.
Things we don’t do:
  • Change your oil
** This list is subject to change based on members that sign up and volunteer their help.

Dale and Sandy are planning on being there. We're good with bar b q and or mud bugs. Ole blue needs front shocks. I have front Bilstein's shocks and moog mounts from SE. If time allows I would also like to replace window track felt. I have the Velcro. Sandy and I are willing to help with whatever needs to be done, just need some guidance.

Dale
I put you down for 1 BBQ and 1 mudbug. If it is really 2 BBQ or 2 mudbug, please let us know. Generally there is enough for “a little stretching to the other side fo the table”, but we’d like to make sure we are not way too short on something or way too much.

Hmmm....

★☆★ ~ WOW, I can't believe another year has flown by and WINNIE TECH DAY is here again!!! Well, I'm hoping that Madeline & I haven't worn out our welcome yet and Lester and Liz will let us come back once again!! We love "schmoozing" with all of the knowledgeable Texas Fanatics. --

As of now the Black Knight doesn't need anything so maybe I could help out being a "step n' fetch it". We both love that Texas BBQ, too!! --

And again this year, a big Texas 'Thank You' to Lester and Liz for their generous hospitality. --
(y)
Is the Black Knight ”tidy”?
…as I recall you were getting relatively close for front brakes?

Did you ever do a leak check?

WOW, Robert ((@TXNSSR)), your memory is superb. I do remember you did let me know about my front brakes a couple of years ago when you & Terry ((@TLM)) were installing my new Bilsteins. But I really haven't put many miles on at all since then due to my ongoing eye surguries. As far as a "Leak Test", could you be more specific?? What should I have leaked?!?!??! -:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

David ((Confused in Conroe!)) -
I was doubling down on my bad joke after the spoiler was installed. Nothing will have leaked, you’re good. I’ll go to my room now.

Re: brakes - Fair enough. I’ve observed your eye issues from afar. Glad are doing well now and you guys will make it down.

Can't pass up on this opportunity. Please put me down as attending. One on the BBQ.

As far as the "wish list" to work on...

--Stepper motor replacement & cluster LEDs and faceplate/needle change.
--FOB programming.
--Shift linkage upgrade.

Thanks,
William
Problem Child
I've got the LEDs and stepper motors. Do you have the gauge faceplate and needles?

Good day all!

I’ve been updating the attendance and work list based on your posts and the conversations I’ve had with folks. Please have a look and let me know if there needs to be any corrections. If there is a question mark, I’m not sure about something.

The tech day is getting closer and having the parts you need is key to getting the work done. Please don’t wait until the last minute to order. If you have any questions or want to talk over something you are thinking about getting worked on, please start a conversation with me and we can exchange phone numbers.

I need to make a slight change on what I would like to get done on Tech day. Scratch the front shocks, I had an opportunity to use a lift and a friend to help so that's done.
I still would like to felt the window channels so they track better and don't scratch the tint. And I have sound deadener for the doors since the panels are coming off. I have a Corvette servo I would like to install, time permitting.
thanks,
Dale (bubbajo)
Do you have the felt? If not I have some and could make you a deal....

Thanks for the prompt response on this. Haven't purchased the faceplate (white) and needles (red) yet. Was hoping to get input on best sourcing for th
I have 1/2" velcro. I think l read to use either that or mole skin. If what you have is better I'll take you up on it.
Let me measure and see if I have enough moleskin, as yours should take 4 strips. I’ll send you a conversation tomorrow and let you know.

John & Karen will be there, 2 for crawfish.
Would like to program a key fob and help where needed.
Be sure to bring both FOBs with you as they all get matched to the R in sequence at the same time. Having new batteries in them would also be a plus, as you‘ll know when they were both changed.
