I got stuck in some stop and go traffic this afternoon and happened to notice the temp gauge slowly creeping up. It got about 2/3rds of the way past 210 towards the next mark (hope that made sense). Traffic started moving and it came down to just below 210 right away. When I got back to the office, I let the truck idle just to see if/when the electric fan would turn on. Turned on right about the time the temp reached the same point in traffic.

Just seems to move around more than the last few GM cars I have had. On my '04 Z71 the temp never seems to move at all.

Steve - mine does the exact same thing and I'm sure its normal- but I also thought it moved around a little more than I'm use to. I was climbing a pretty steep mountain trail for about 5 miles when I first noticed it.
Some of my past Vette's would go to 225 / 230 before the fans kicked on and that was normal. I wondered if the new block had anything to do with it? Also, I sure get alot of condensation out the tailpipes.
