I'm trying to order the 2005 SSR manual and the hydraulic fluid for the top. The part number is is89022748 for the fluid, and GMT/05-SSR-1 for the manual, according to previous threads. But I can't seem to find them on gmpartsdirect.com.

What am I doing wrong?

You may need to order the fluid through your dealer, or get the Saab equivalent. As for the manual, I ordered mine from WWW.HELMINC.COM

Good advice

Thanks Doug, I've kept a quart on hand since my problem occured. It seems that the lines that run to the struts that lift the compartment cover are suceptable to getting pinched during the mechanical action going on, Just take a look at them once a month to be sure they are clear of any friction.

Didn't look at 2005 owners manual but you can get the .pdf ( full 398 pages) on gm.com for a 2004 which I did. Create yourself an account under the owner center (you don't even have to be an owner) and once logged-in go to the "glovebox" link on the left side and there it is (along with the 16 page quick reference) :)

Frank

ps the US GM website is soooo much better than the Canadian

That's just the owner's manual, not the SERVICE MANUAL. Big difference. It cost $135.00 through Helms. They publish all vehicle service manuals.

hydraulic Fluid & Manual

I had the same Problem back in Feb. 22 "My Good Friends at GMpartsdirect.com
delivered the fluid" last week June 29. The original P/N 89022748 is obsolete &
has been superceded first by Saab 9-3 Convertible M98 {P/N 3032356} which
now is also obsolete. What you need to do is to call your local Saab Dealer
Parts Department and tell them you need 2 ea. 500 ml bottles 93165227 should
be a stocked item at ~ $38.00 ea. Or you can wait on GM {about 2 months until
they figure it out} them they will shop you the Saab 93165227 with a the old
GM P/N 89022748 hand scratched on it. "TRUE STORY" I Will Never Deal With
GMpartsdirect.com again! By the time I had received the oil 6 ea. 500 ml bottles
it had been already taken care of. I still have 2 for myself and sold 4 last week
end at Irwindale. I have 2 that I am to deliver tonight.
I purchased the complete 2 Volume Manual for $168.00 from www.helmic.com/helmic/products their is well over 100 pages dedicated to the operations of the top. I would strongly suggest that pou let Mr. GoodWrench
perform the operation. "Word to The Wise, it is my understanding that that fluid
may not be very friendly to the paint! I know of only one dealer that has sent
their mechanics back east that can address the top problems, & I think he is
learning more & more every day.
Terry,
P.S. if I can be of any assistance give me a shout 661-296-6734

Are you advising that I should have a mechanic go thru that 100 page checklist on the top?
