It's 50's American Truck Iron time warped into the 21st century!
I love the concept, I love the look, I love that hardly anyone else has one, I love that GM had the moxie to build it! (And yes, I'm willing to live with a few little nit-picky, non-issue quirks to have one!)

Of course - that's just my opinion! :) :) :)

Because it has truely been a dream vehicle of mine since I first saw that tiny little blurb about it in a mag (I think it was motortrend) and said to myself "If GM makes this I WILL own one". And now I do :thumbs

It is the best ride I have ever had and I have had a lot of them. The next closest fun I have ever had was my 86 Mustang GT convert pumped to 280 HP. Ride while it is fun. :cool :cool

Im Like My SSR Because.....

Tonight I had to drive 60 miles to a customers house to take care of a paperwork SNAFU. On the way home I stopped at a local 7-11 for coffee. As I walked back out to the truck, there are 16 people walking around it and admiring it. Lot of questions, and about 20 minutes of showing what the truck is all about.
While talking with all the adults, there is a little girl, about 5-6 years old, going over the truck with a fine tooth comb. When shes done, I let her sit in the truck I start to leave, she gives me a hig five. THAT WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT. :)

I said this myself - once I saw the price I thought it would never happen, but I'm one step closer today!

I love my SSR 'cause...

Like BlastfromPast, I love it cause it's got old-fashioned muscle car hot rod looks with 21st century technology! It's fun to drive and unique - not everyone has one. A lot of people haven't even seen one in person and they love walking up or driving up to it just to look. I love the sound of the motor through the exhaust and would like to make it louder, (after all, I'm used to my Harley with Thunderheaders....) but I don't want to hear it in the cab over the CDs or trying to talk....I already can't hear for a little while after I get off the Harley.... :lol

Right now, I'm having fun thinking of my new paint scheme for it! The possibilities.....

Meeting Fellow SSR Owners.

I will have owned my SSR for two yrs. this coming Nov. 28. I know I live in a rural podunk area, but I have yet to meet another SSR on the road. The only fellow SSR owners I have "met" are the people on this site. Population of my county is 30,000 and I think I'm the only SSR owner. Lots of pickup trucks here but no SSR's. I keep waiting to give the SSR thumbs-up or wave or whatever when I meet an oncoming SSR but it just hasn't happened yet. I think one of the biggest surprises to me is that it brings smiles to all walks of people. Young, old, guys in suits, bikers, male, female, etc. everyone seems to appreciate and enjoy the SSR. Little kids are hypnotized by the SSR and just can't keep from stareing when you drive by. If you don't like attention, don't buy a SSR cause they are attention getters!
