FALSE: The only common thing that I know that really hurts paint jobs in brake fluid.

I have heard that a burlap sack soaked in Coca-Cola and dropped on a hood at night will give the owner a fresh metal surface in the morning when they pull the sack off.

Not that I ever tried that when I was young and stupid... But a guy I knew in high school, that's a different story.
