NO, on my 2005 SSR the window dose not go up all the way if you bring it up with the door open, it will only go up the last 1/2 inch after you close the door.Kingbee said:If I close my windows with the door open, the window goes up ALL the way. Upon closing the door, the window is too high to properly engage the weatherstrip on the top, and just lays on the outside of it.
Is that normal?
Must be an 04 problem that GM has corrected in the 05's with no recall for us :nonoKingbee said:If I close my windows with the door open, the window goes up ALL the way. Upon closing the door, the window is too high to properly engage the weatherstrip on the top, and just lays on the outside of it.

Want something else new to look for (well you wouldn't have to look too hard).Boosted said:My 04 does the same thing as the 05 listed..All the way up except for the last 1/2 inch and then it rolls on up after the door is closed. I have not heard of this problem as of yet...Wow something new to look out for.
My '05 did the same thing and I was ready to head to the dealer until I found this trick on this site.Kingbee said:If I close my windows with the door open, the window goes up ALL the way. Good follow up note, I hadn't mentioned that in my post.beer100 said:If the down and up trick didn't work, it's time to see the dealer.
BTW, If it wasn't noted, the trick does not work if you use the express down. Press and hold the down button and hold it for 5 sec after the window stops moving. Then up and hold 5 sec's.
Had the same problem on my 05. Turned out it was the door lock switch, once it was replaced it worked fine. :flagKingbee said:If I close my windows with the door open, the window goes up ALL the way. Are you are saying that the window didn't index down when the door handle was pulled.froberts said:Had the same problem on my 05. Turned out it was the door lock switch, once it was replaced it worked fine. :flag
Thanks, after the freeze here in Tejas mine started acting up. It would go down when you opened the door then pop back up before you could close the door. I would open and close real quick again. One of my local SSR Brain Trusts told me there was a trick like this out there and low and behold I have found it!Try resetting the windows

With the doors closed, roll down the window and hold the button down for 5 seconds, then roll up the window and hold the button for 5 seconds. This should reset the windows.
Worked great first time for me on the drivers door, the passenger side took a few tries because I was standing outside with the door open. Once closed it worked great.
No problem since.
Good liuck
