I was pulling out of the super market when some little toyota rammed into my back bumper. It ended being some sweet little college girl that was so sorry and apolagetic that I couldn't just blow my top. We're going to settle up for the damages tommorow.

Well it doesn't look all that bad, good thing she was going slow.....and was sorry, I would have hated to hear what you would have done to another girl :lol :lol
Ouch!

Poor baby! Hope you had her give it a little kiss to make it feel better :lol

On a more serious note...sorry to see the bump! Just the thought of having to park in a crowded parking lot makes me nervous...makes you want to walk a few miles just to ensure things like this don't happen.
That looks like maybe a $1200-$1500 love tap.

I'm swinging by the repair shop tommorrow so, I'll just have to wait and see.

Well she did give me a peck on the cheek and an I'm sorry hug after we exchanged info now that you mention it... :lol
I got re-ended last evening. At 1300 miles! :)

One of the New Jersey highway things. Everyone is doing 50 on wet roads. One guy stops suddenly, the next has to stop, I just barely make it, then I watch some little Nissan slid into my license plate.

I just got that damn license plate last week!

I know what you mean. I get nervous just pulling into a parking lot, but I'm getting a lot more exercise these days, walking in from remote parking :lol

Poor Rollex, you're living my nightmare :leaving Hope repairs go well. :ssr
WOW..You are allot better on this than me..I don't care how pretty she was...SHE WOULD PAY! Police would be called, fire department, GBI, FBI and might even get a call in to "W". I did not buy a wrecked truck and I do not plan on paying for one. That is why I have a great lawyer.. :thumbs :flag :flag
Rollex,

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I am waiting for my first "ding" just to get it over with but man, you took about 100 dings for ALL of us!

Here's hoping they'll get it fixed as good as new in a hurry!
Looks like a rear bumper replacement and repair the dent in the fender and a complete quarter panel repaint.... I bet you are looking at closer to $2 grand...... What a shame... I had the same problem with my right front fender and facia.... $3200!

Doesn't seem to do any good to park away from other cars... I was parked in a vacant area of the parking lot when some @ss hit mine....

It seems unreal that such a minor damage could cost such an exorbatent price to repair :confused

Anyway watch your bumpers folks~ :flag

You can imagine what that adds to our insurance costs.

It's a real ripoff. Cars should be able to withstand under 15 mph crashes with no damage. Instead they don't even put real bumpers on cars anymore.
Trucks generally, are not sold with a rear bumper. It's an add-on.

Nowadays. If you look at older cars they all had bumpers.

Indeed, It's rare to see a car in a crowd that has good old fashioned solid bumpers. I'd sure feel safer and less weary with a thick peice of chrome upfront and back than nothing.
The totals are in for my repairs. The damage, to my wallet, pun not intended, is $900~ It's going into the shop on the 18th for a whole new bumper to be refitted. Seems like kinda a waste to lose the entire back bumper for that damage, but that's the story.
It's all about time. It takes more time to repair damage than to order and repaint a new part. Most body shops replace as opposed to repair parts these days. Shop hours are expensive and parts are cheaper than shop hours. It will look perfect again! :thumbs
Wow seems like a bargain to me! That is good news, well pretty good news, for you. For that price I would assume you are not having that small dent in the fender repaired. That is where the major expense always seems to be... Sanding, taping off (or removing), color coating and then new clear coat.

With my ouch we opted to replace the front fender rather than repair and the body shops didn't think they could get the fender back to its original shape. You can't see it but in the picture but there is a small buckle about half way in the wheel well... Also requires a new front facia.... And I am hoping my new Chin Spoiler from Axiom arrives just about the time I get my ride back from the body shop....
