Well guys,
I am having serious second thoughts about this SSR.
Purchased 9-30-04; last week had no A/C.
Called service dept and they from the moment I called were indicating I would have to leave it and drive a rental.... before they even knew the problem.
Now, after 3 hours there, they tell me that it is the Control Panel for the A/C and it must be ordered. my service tech (drive manager) tells me it should be in tomorrow; I then call another Chevy dealership to see if they have the part; no luck. They, too, say they would have to order part and that it would take a WEEK to get it. I then call my service dept back and tell him what I learned and I was also told the only way it would get there tomorrow is if it is ordered overnight w/additional freight charges.
I have a vacation to Florida planned next week :cuss and MUST HAVE MY A/C. Told service manager if overnight shipping is a possibility, get it; I WILL PAY THE FREIGHT.
I was never even told about this and wouldn't have known if I had not called the other dealership. When I said I would pay the freight, he said he would check to see how it was ordered and would do whatever he could; no guarantees... what a disappointment.
I did have to leave it; have a wonderful Tracker to drive around.
Guess it is so foreign to me because before the SSR I had Toyotas for 10 years and never once had to go to the service dept except for oil changes.
I feel jerked around...like they really don't care if they get it fixed or when they get it fixed.
Is this the norm for Chevrolet service departments? :mad :cuss
