Just got back from lowering my SSR, put a Bell tech kit on it and man it's low!! love it!! This is the way it's suppose to be! Rides like a truck now, just a little less travel, a little bit stiffer ride.
But the over all look is sooo different!
Surprised me when I put it in the garage! I have a windshield "hanging ball" to remind me to stop before I hit the back racks, and now the ball almost goes over the top of the windshield instead of dead in the middle!! seems like it's 4 inches lower!!

Looks good :thumbs

Since you still have the stock wheels and tires, do you have any rubbing in the front or rear? With thsteering locked left or right??

Thanks
NO rubbing at all! it fit's perfect! It was called NSN BELL 140 kit and was $335.00

We had Les Schwab install our BelTech kit a month ago when the Boyd Renegades were put on. We'd like maybe another 1/2 inch more of a drop but can live just nicely with what ended up. I can't post pictures here but can send if PM'd with your e-mail address. Love the look-good job! :cool

RandynBarb:

Could you do a measurement of the distance between the ground and the front and rear fender flange at the center of the wheel... We would be interested in how much drop you obtained... Also, what tires did you put on the Boyd Renegades? Size I mean!

Thanks,

We'd be happy to; although we won't be to the beach till next weekend (striper is finally coming!!) so it'll be a week 'fore we can get the info to you. We used the original tires - 18's and 20's...didn't want to have to buy new tires; bad enough we now have to store the original wheels. :cool

Originals are 19 front and 20 rear. Doing the same thing with Colorado wheels - staying with stock tires.

Coddington's selection of 19s was pretty limited, but the Renegade looks great.

Ghost,

I got similar results with a Ground Force kit. Ride is identical to stock with the GF, but cornering is MUCH flatter with less drama.
