They guy was nice and spent some time with me. He said that the price tag is some where around $7500 for the magna charger's small block truck engine. I thought that was a bit higher than what magna charger is charging the other member on this group. (4000 more
:confused )

He told me that the warranty will be void by GM but they sell me a warranty for $200 that will pay me $5k if my engine fails for 3/36k miles. What do you guys think.

Caveman, are you getting yours done at Magnacharger? I talked to then also today. Kevin at magnacharger told me that they do not have anything specific on SSR yet but they are working on it. He said that it will be ready by March and will run 5900-6900 plus install. So I'm confused about the price you mentioned and where you are going to get it done? Also what product are you getting? He said they do not recommend using other car's kits for the SSR.

Dennis,

Acording to Magnacharger and Lingenfelter people this will add about 120 to 150 HP to the car. That will have an effect, wouldn't it:jester :jester

Horsepower

Yes, the additional HP is great. I would be concerned about the transmission, differential, cooling system, torque/stress on the frame and brakes, not to mention the loss of GM Warranty. I don't believe the vendors will cover any thing past the motor. If GM recinds the warranty that would probably be inclusive of the top mechanism, A/C, ect.

The US Congress passed a law stating that the vehicle manufacturer cannot void the entire warranty just because the owner modified the automobile. It must be proven that the modification caused the failure. So warranty for the top would not be void just because you modified the engine. However it might be difficult to prove a transmission or rearend failure was not due to the extra torque/power.

I spoke to the dealer and they said only the motor would be affected by this mod. I'm getting it. Only if someone can tell me 4.5 0-60 is reasonable after SSR gets a 150 hp boost? Cosiering Ford lightning with similar numbers and weight problem.

I decided to wait until March. Both Lingenfelter and magnacharger are working on SSRs right now and I'd like to get a tested system than the first one, even if it is a bit cheaper.

they told me they will not have anything ready for SSR until March. They also told me they are not installing it on anyone's car until a kit is out. Maybe we are talking about two different outfits. I talked to kevin who is an account manager at

hey dude relax. I didn't ruin it for you or anything. I am too far away from CA ( Chicago)to get it done there. I wouldn't be able to take advantage of any special arrangements they may have anyways. I'll be having mine done at Lingenfelter in Indiana.

My point was that is this thing even possible this early. No need for you to get violent dude.
