Well, I saw more SSR's in one spot today than I ever have. A bakers dozen showed at the Kingsburg Car show today. Even though the south valley was Rockin' and Rollin' with a 5.1 quake (see attached .gif) - the SSR turnout and the car show in general was fantastic...

I HAVE to beat lloger with pic posts - so here we go...

Will post shots of the Sequoia Run tomorrow - I can't be late to the 1st Annual Central California SSR Club dinner!!!

Dinner at Cattlemans was GREAT - it was prom night - so we had entertainment too...

Update on the QUAKE.. CalTech scientests have revised the quake to either 5.3 or 6.0 - they speculate that the simultaneous engine starts of so many SSR's may be the epicenter of this earth shaking event. :lol

(See what kind of good stuff you can come up with when you mix GREAT times - GREAT SSRfanatics and a Rusty Nail or two...) :cheers

Gotta hit the sack - @ 9:30 am tomorrow we'll be at the 200 foot elevation - by noon we'll be topping out at 7,500 feet - in the midst of some of the oldest creations on earth!!!!

SSR OWNERS ARE THE COOLEST FOLKS THAT CAN BE FOUND...

To The Hills...

The SSR Run was too much fun...

What characters we are when we're in a group...

Here's a few photos - will put a few out on the gallery with higher resolution too.

If you think one SSR draws so looks - try 11 in a group...

At least the roads were clear

Even though the signs said chains may be required at any time - we didn't need um...

All our SSR's did get really dirty - the snow melt was going across the road in spots - but the drive was worth it. (I hope all the other agree!)

This is all from me...

...but, wait until everybody else gets home...

Thanks to all of you for making this entire weekend something I'll always remember. I didn't just buy an SSR - I got a bunch more family members. You are all a bunch of really great folks...

Car Shows are great and all - BUT as FREEZER states: These SSR's are best when on the road. What a wonderful drive we had - NO mechanical issues what so ever...

Plans are in the works starting tonight for the 2nd Annual Kingsburg SSR gathering and RUN.
Remember - we'll have to limit participation to the first 50 that reply! ;)

Made It Home!

So much to tell I don't know where to start.. On the way there I found out why the call the paint color ricochet metallic. An 18 wheeler kicked up a rock the size of a golf ball which proptly crossed 4 lanes of traffic without hitting a thing. The rock then took out some paint and 'ricocheted' off the right fender. Now I have an excuse to add some paint to the front - Hmmm.

Car show was a blast - what a great bunch of people - the SSR owners. Keith was absolutely the perfect host as he was always looking to help and had everything planned so well, thanks Keith! :thumbs The steak and lobster for dinner wasn't bad either ;)

Sunday through the sequoias was perfect again - roads clear, not much traffic, a dozen SSRs top down not tto cold not too hot (even with the snow on the ground). Even us California folks only needed t-shirts.

Got a bunch of pictures to sort and post, maybe tomorrow..

ON the way home we stopped at a rest area and had a guy come up and ask about the mileage so I told him. Turns out he had won an SSR at bingo game, drive it a bit and decided the insurance was too expensive, so he sold it. Went to a guy in Clovis (CA) who put a green strip on it.

Thanks for the bandwidth :)

As I recall the wheels were Budnick. The yellows were out in force and there were three ultraviolets as well. I think they were trying to blend with the wildflowers up in the hills as we kept seeing those two colors everywhere. :lol

We made it home also!

Got home about 10:00 P.M. Very tired with a very dirty SSR. Had a great time Fri. evening at the cruise and had a great day Sat. at the Car Show. Sunday had to be the best, though. The cruise from the valley floor up to 7000 ft. was fantastic. I have to agree with hflstlf. KWhopper was a fantastic host and had everything planned out perfectly. Keith even bought everyone hamburgers Fri. evening. He even burned a custom CD for each of us on the run Sun. with great car related songs on it. Steve Hull and his wife Judy had T-shirts for all the SSR owners and their wives, significant others or whoever came with them. I can't wait til the 2nd Annual Kingsburg SSR Gathering and Run, so I'm getting my reservation in now!! Are you listening, Keith? At the dinner Sat. night Keith had some nice gifts for everyone. I really feel sorry for all the Southern, Northern and Central California SSR owners, that for one reason or another didn't show up for this one. You missed a really great gathering. I've got quite a few pics to sort thru and see if I got anything Kwhopper missed, but it's too late tonight. I'll try to get some posted tomorrow. Again, Thanks Keith for everything and also thanks to all who showed up and helped make it a great event.
