***UPDATE***

We have received our LS2 Predators, and have shipped out all of our pre-orders and current orders! They will stay in stock to meet the demands of our customers. You can order by calling us at the shop (contact information below in your signature), or you can order directly from our website: www.runninwiththedevil.com/gmgas.htm

Thanks!

Hello everyone, and we hope all is well!

If I may, I also wanted to use this opportunity to let everyone know that the DiabloSport Predator for the LS2 is actually in production this week, and it should be released any day now (seriously, this is not a joke). This was a confirmed update to me by my very close friend and confidant at DiabloSport (Johan Mangs; head of product development). All the awesome and patient customers who have already pre-ordered the Predator from us will get their units shipped to them first!

The initial release is for the 2005 model year only (there isn't any pending release date yet for the 2006 models, but I will keep everyone informed once I hear anything concerning such). It will cover all LS2 vehicles. The part # is U7192. I will have complete specs on the tool within a few days listed. This tool does *not* permanently marry itself to your vehicle. Meaning, if you restore your vehicle back to the factory tune then it will work on another applicable vehicle. The LS2 Predator is also the 1st GM Predator that will actually datalog (not just display data live from your pcm on the screen), just like how all the Ford Predators have been doing. You can easily export that data with the DAT program from DiabloSport to send us, your tuner, the datalogs from your vehicle, and/or you may view them yourself on your computer.

I will update this thread with a means to purchase it from our website shortly, and of course you can always call our shop Monday thru Friday from 9am to 6pm CST (10am to 7pm EST) to place your order directly over the phone. Our # is 251-479-9451.

Remember, as always, RWTD gives FREE true custom tuning for 6 months to those who purchase the Predator from us for NO additional fee, available through our one of a kind custom tuning support website located here:

www.DiabloSportTuning.com
aka www.GMcustomtuning.com

Currently, after the 1st 6 months of initial custom tuning support is expired then 6 months of additional tuning support is just $49 for every 6 months! This includes unlimited true custom tunes!

A little about RWTD: We are located in beautiful Mobile, AL on the Gulf Coast. We have a 3500 sq foot performance shop and dyno tuning facility. We own the most state of the art Dynojet dynos ever produced, the 224xLC (automobiles) and the 250i (motorcycles), both which have the Eddy Current Load Absorption Systems. We service all performance vehicles, and we specialize in both Ford and GM vehicles of all types, as well as cruiser and sportbikes. We have been in business under the RWTD name now for roughly 5 years, but each of us here have been in the service and high performance automotive business for triple that time each. We also want to thank our customers for giving us the ability to serve you. Without you we wouldn't be anything or anywhere!

We are the largest and most experienced individual DiabloSport ChipMaster Revolution Custom Tuning Dealer bar none. We have tuned more DiabloSport customers than any dealer, period. We actually know how to properly and completely tune your vehicle for maximum performance. Do NOT purchase your Predator from a company who can NOT offer you true custom tuning to go along with your Predator! You should highly consider the fact that RWTD gives you professional experience to go along with your purchase without any additional cost to you!

We also have the full suite of HP Tuners 2.0, therefore I can even tune your pcm for the small fee of $99 if you ship it to us, and this includes free updates for 6 months (contact us for more information). However, whether we use HP Tuners or DiabloSport's ChipMaster Revolution software to tune your vehicle with you can be totally assure that the tuning is EXACTLY the same with either product. Each product has the same capability to make the exact same custom tune for your vehicle.

We also stock and sell many other products that compliment your vehicle and your tuning.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!

Kind Regards...

Yes sir, that was Scott! The dyno tuning I did on his vehicle turned our perfectly, and he was extremely satisfied. I guess I should be ashamed for not posting up his dyno graphs, but his dyno #'s were posted up here I'm pretty sure of it. I apologize about that. I'll do my best to get those up this week.

Thanks!

Still Here

I have just been very tied up with work and other projects.

I have written many pages about how pleased I am with Jame's tune. I acctually stopped by on my way to the Jackson show, which, buy the way, I won 1st in class. James was working late again on another customers car. Said hello and went next door to the very fine resturaunt. "Popeyes"LOL

Proper tuning for max power is only part of the game. Dialing in torque management, shift points, pressure and speed, thats where 10ths are made.

One more plug while I'm here...I love my new hood from MPD. It looks great. Thanks Eric.

Thanks James for the tune. I have not changed a thing!

As for the rest of ya living on dynos, get off them and go drive. Superchargers love cold weather! Who cares about graphs???

Hey James, I'm still waiting on that Street Racing file:)

Later Scott

Does anyone have any horsepower numbers to toss out . I mean how much rwhp is gained by using this product. I realize it will vary but a ballpark number would be nice.
Thanks:jester

I'll do my best to get up a dyno graph or few later today of LS2's. I do have some before/afters of bone stock vehicles, too. As for what I have gained, generally there is anywhere from 8 to 15 rwhp and rwtq in the vehicles, depending where you're comparing in the graph. Naturally there isn't going to be some miracle in the tuning on a bone stock vehicle, and if anyone else claims as such then I would have a hard time trusting them, especially me being a professional tuner (I see first hand). Now, being that the weather is cooler you tend to see less gains from a before/after in the winter/spring than you will in the summer, so don't let this fool you either. From the factory, once IAT temps reach 86+ then spark is pulled, and gets more aggressive as temps rise. I recalibrate the IAT and ECT retarders, however.

The majority of the power gains come from calibrating the fueling (they are quite rich from the factory, and COT kicking in makes it even worse), and there is some slight mid-range and top-end gains from optimizing the spark. The vehicles are actually quite efficient already on the spark curve, and even from the factory some vehicles tend to produce more KR than others. We have attributed some KR to false knock, tho. We completely tune the vehicle, from Closed Loop to Open Loop, and we take care of all the behind the scenes calibrating (throttle limiter, torque management, skip shift, fans, etc.), as well.

I did just find out that the DAT viewer is not yet ready for the LS2 Predators, so for the time being the only logging will be to the tool itself, as well as the playback. I do not have any idea if/when that capability will be released. I apologize if I may have disappointed anyone discussing the datalogging features, but this is new information and all that I am able to give at this time. This is much better than the old GM Predator, however. Those tools only displayed the data live, and never datalogged.

Thanks!

Kind Regards...

Thanks RWDT...I agree with all you said...I build a few race cars in my day and never fails someone will make some wild claim about HP gain. I am a little shocked to hear they are fairly good out of the factory. I felt like the timing and fuel would be conservative. Just does not feel like 400 hp out of the hole. I have a 6 speed and felt maybe they were consetivate due to drive train concerns.
How about headers??? Do these engines handle the air fairly well???:seeya :seeya

Headers? Excellent question! YES, the LS2 engines respond drastically to a header/exhaust upgrade. This is a VERY worthwhile option, and I would highly suggest it. RWTD does sell Dynatech headers for your vehicle. We have yet to install any on the SSR vehicles in the area (hopefully so real soon), but we have installed quite a few sets on the C6 and GTO vehicles, including some Stainless Works headers (for who were are also a dealer for) on a GTO last week. I will be dyno tuning that particular GTO within the next couple of weeks (or when the customer can bring it to me).

Thanks!

I really like the GTO's! It's not often you can find a car of that caliper with that type of drivetrain. You get the bad boy LS2 engine, the best 6-speed ever produced, an a very nice suspension to boot. The Australians really got that car right!

Sincerely...

Sounds like us '05 owners are still out of luck if we want to re-gear to from 3.73 to 4.56. At least as far as aftermarket tuners goes.
