I need to take my 2005 in for some noise issues. Has anyone in Maryland had experience with service at a dealership in Maryland or within reasonable distance from the Metropolitan Washington D.C. or Baltimore areas that has a mechanic or mechanics who seem to be well versed in SSR issues and repair?

Check with Ourismen Chvey in Bowie. Royce the service manager has a SSR. They will do what ever it take to solve your problem. They just got a new air bag componet that goes under the passenger seat. It took a coupe of days because it did not come from chevy. But in the mean time they keep up to date as to what was going on. I take the SSR back on Monday for them to install it.

We go to.....

The Sheehy Chevrolet in Upper Malboro, on 301. The SSR mechanic is named Chris. He seems to know the SSR well, and is one of the few that have even worked on the top!!! He even has all the blue prints for the top.
That's who we reccommend, but I am sure there are other good ones around. :ssr

Thank you both for the information. As my main issue is with noise involving the top I think I will give Chris at Sheehy a try.

If you don't get satisfaction there, take it over to Oursisman's Rockmont Chevrolet their address is 15301 Frederick Rd, Rockville, MD 20855, the phone number is (301) 424-5900. The General Manager (SSR Owner) is Ken, The Service Managers name is Jerry (20+ year service guy). I drive my SSR up from Florida to have these folks work on it! They are the best folks that I have ever done business with!

Regards,

Rob

Rob - Thanks for the info on Ourisman in Rockville. Where are you in Florida? We plan to take the SSR on our trip to Orlando in November.

Service guy

I agree with David,

I ran into Chris at Ledos' Pizza in Chesapeake Beach. We had a good comversation about the issues some of the SSR's have experienced. He noticed right away that I lowered my redline red and hd done some motor stuff to it.
It makes me feel better to have someone close that knows whats goin on.

Mechanic's school

Chevrolet offer's a special training to their mechanic's for the SSR like they do Harley-Davidson. They actually go back to the factory and train with the specialist's for that specific car! Not all mechanic's get this luxury! It's up to the dealer to do this! Most Mercedes dealer's send their mechanics to update schools all the time!
