This was for the truck we traded in for the SSR!!

Merry Christmas from Joe/Lori/Emily/Rose

Rusty Chevrolet (Sung to Jingle Bells)

Dashing through the snow in my rusty Chevrolet.
Down the road I go, sliding all the way.
I need new piston rings. I need some new snow tires.
My car is held together by a piece of chicken wire!

Oh, rust and smoke, the heater's broke, the door just blew away.
I light a match to see the dash and then I start to pray-ay.
The frame is bent, the muffler went, the radio's okay.
Oh, what fun it is to drive this rusty Chevrolet!

I went to IGA, to get some Christmas cheer.
I just passed up my left front tire and it's gettin' hard to steer.
Speeding down the highway, right past the county cops.
I have to drag my swampers just to get the car to stop.

Oh, rust and smoke, the heater's broke, the door just blew away.
I light a match to see the dash and then I start to pray-ay.
The frame is bent, the muffler went, the radio's okay.
Oh, what fun it is to drive this rusty Chevrolet!

Bouncing through the snowdrifts in a big, blue cloud of smoke.
People laugh as I drive by; I wonder what's the joke!
I have to get to Wal-Mart to pick up my layaway,
Cause Santa's comin' soon in his big, old, rusty sleigh!

Oh, rust and smoke, the heater's broke, the door just blew away.
I light a match to see the dash and then I start to pray-ay.
The frame is bent, the muffler went, the radio's okay.
Oh, what fun it is to drive this rusttttttttty Chevroooooooleeeeeet!

Great song, My first Chevrolet was like that!:glol
My first Chevy was a 56...
Grey primer, no wiring harness (Everything off the Battery terminal) More Rot in the trunk than I care to mention. Back seat...diamond tuck and roll. Front seat was a milk crate.
I “Found” this car when I was 15....pushed it home....kept for over a year and eventually sold it in pretty much the same condition I found it in...Al least it ran when I sold it!

Wish I had that car now.....

This chorus sure does bring back memories of living in New York with the salted roads. My first car was a 1972 Nova SS that was only a few years old and didnt have any rear quarters left due to rust. It took 1 year to make the new quarters and weld up all the holes for paint.

A little known fact.

If anyone had the old 45 of this tune it stated on the bottom of the label in fine print , and I kid you not,

"Sponsored by Ford"

I knowI'm dating myself by announcing that but what the hey, I just hit 40 and still going so why not?
