I live in Ontario Canada and my wife and I were visiting my parents completly on the other side of Canada ( 2500 or so miles away) On a plus 55* day in Victoria BC
Canada I witnessed a beautiful image rolling in city traffic. My wife first spotted it first, she exclaimed REDLINE RED !!!! chase him. So I did; in a parking lot I slowly pulled up an asked if he was joedecat. He looked at me like I was either from Mars or from this web site. It was joedecat. Chris and his very lovely, and much better half, my wife and I had dinner a few days later and a friendship started. Thank you SSR Fanatic site. I hope to meet alot more of you in the future.
Now I want to know if you have met any fellow SSR'rs either on the street or what ever. It is a long winter and lets help out the cats in the north waste a few days online.

Have Seen No One

I live in the San Antonio area and I have not met any fanatics in fact I have not seen but 1 slingshot yellow since Sep 04 when I purchased mine. Where are these SSRs hiding out in a large city like San Antonio?

I must say it was neat to have some one pull up and say hey are you joedecat . at this time. i realized this must be some one from This web site ,our town of 400000. only has 5 ssr's 1 red which i have 2 black ,1yellow and i siilver. ias far as i knew i was the only member of this site in our city .
When Scott and Susan pulled up in a parking lot and asked if i was joedecat ,i couldnt hear what he was saying and i thiught that i was going to get the usual questions " did you build that yourself or what is it " to which my reply could be " well it was a Hyundai Tiburon that got in a terrible wreck and the body shop lost the plans " . Some people actually beleive me and go away scratching their heads .
Scott and Sue are real nice people and it will be great when they move out to the warm side of the country and they can enjoy there SSR 364 days ayear ,yes 364 as we do get slush for afew hours once a year or so .
It was great meeting Scott and Susan and should any off you Visit our fair city of gardens pleas feel to drop a line before you come and many thanks to this great site SSR fanatic

I was in an Intrepid, Oh my god!!

When I ran into joedecat I was driving an Intrepid of all things. My SSR was back in her heated garage waiting for spring. :cuss To day being ground hog day and the little bugger saw his shadow 6 weeks more or as we say in Canada 10 weeks more. :cuss :cuss :cuss I think I'll go to the garage and put on the 3rd coat of wax. :yawn Scott Doran#201 :seeya :)

The wife and I are even considering a trip to the Lone SStaR state in March to meet some more SSR owners. Actually, the wife wants to go to San Antonio and see the sights and the Riverwalk. If we decide to really do it, I hope we can meet up with Houtex and Wildcat66 and any other Texas owners that care to do a meet and greet. If we go we will probably get there on Sat. March, 5th. I'll keep you posted.

Yes I have

I've met rick418cars.

We were both at my local paint supply store getting colors for our projects. Rick was gettting the colors for his SSR (copper and cream) and I was Picking up the color for a 71 Corvette Stingray, and ordering the colors for my SSR (special order House of Kolor).

We had talked for a while about mods to the cars and the upcoming SEMA show, as we waited for the supplier to mix our paints. Never really though much about it at the time (the meeting that is, cause the plans for the car looked terrific). But now that it's been mentioned in the "met my first fanatic" thread, I think it's kind of cool. :cool

Looking forward to meeting more of you, perhaps on the Hot Rod power Tour in June. :thumbs

Wimberley

About an hour or so north of San Antonio - pretty ride through the hill country. We tried to get a meet together there about a month ago but it fell through - Machell and I had fun anyway.
